About this ebook
An Invitation is a collection of poems that were inspired by the Lord, family, friends, and my own experiences. You are invited to stand with us on mountain tops in times of joy and rest in the Lord's peace. To trod the valleys with us as we struggle with sorrow and look to the Lord for comfort and healing. Always petitioning and praising God and seeking his guidance while walking through this not so easy life.

An Invitation - Valdena Navratil
Rhyme Overtime
All my thoughts in rhyme are coming,
Insanity is knocking on my door.
Lord, please keep me from succumbing
To the madness they implore.

My Prayer
O Holy Spirit, this I pray:
Be with me throughout today.
Work in me that I might serve,
My heavenly Father here on Earth.
Amen
Winter 1995
God the Father
Guardian angels all around us.
One great power, one great love.
Dear sweet Jesus sent to save us.
To, one day, take us up to heaven above.
Everlasting life,
Forgiveness.
Always present,
Taking care.
Holy Spirit sent to guide us.
Every answer to every prayer.
Reaching out to you in faith, Lord.
Taking time for thanks and praise.
For the blessings that are ours,
When we give to you our days.

There Are No Accidents in God’s Kingdom
Accident? I don’t think so!
You are here by God’s design.
He has placed his mark upon you,
And declared, This one is mine.
He’s calling you…please listen,
To that still, small voice within,
That is saying, "Come and follow me,
Leave behind your life of sin."
Don’t put off until tomorrow,
What you know you need today.
Just confess that you are a sinner,
God will hear you when you pray.
Father, please forgive me.
I know, for me, that your Son died.
And I believe he rose again,
That he is seated by your side.
Lord Jesus, I need you as my Savior.
I know that you’re the only one,
Who can lead me to the Father,
When my life on earth is done.
So I am asking you to be my Lord and Master,
The perfecter of my ways,
The Shepherd of my wayward heart,
My rescuer when I stray.
I pray; O Holy Spirit come and fill me,
Teach my spirit how to sing,
So others may see Christ through me,
And want him to be their king.
Father, I am thanking you.
All praise, honor, and glory to you I give.
For paying the price with the blood of Christ,
That forever, with you, I may live.
Thank you, Father. Amen

If you read this poem and it touches your heart and you don’t know Christ as your Lord and Savior, then I’ll encourage you to read it again, this time making it a prayer. Ask Christ to come into your heart, then tell someone you can trust what you have done. Ask them to help you find a church where you can worship the Lord as you begin your new life in Christ.
I pray that God’s blessings
