Daniel Carroll born February 2, 1976 has been through many struggles in his life. At the age of three he was hit by a car, and was in a coma for 3 months. Growing up he tried to find a way to fit in the best that he could. He struggled with drug abuse for many years, before he came to know Jesus as his Lord and Savior. After coming to know Jesus, Daniel’s life was changed in many ways as he began to live for God and allowed Him to work in his life.

Introduction

I am blessed to see that God has enabled Daniel Carroll to write his third book. Daniel’s poetry has been a source of inspiration for me and others for many years. On several occasions, I have received a poem on a Sunday evening which the Lord inspired Daniel to write during one of my sermons. I am always amazed at his uncanny ability to compile the words and pen the thoughts that capture the essence of what others are feeling, but find it difficult to say.

I have known Daniel since the day he gave his life to Jesus Christ, and I have seen God truly transform his life. He has overcome a myriad of obstacles and continues to press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. His writings are a reflection of the narrow and difficult road he has traveled toward the abundant life which Christ died to give him. As you read this book, I hope that you will be as inspired, empowered and encouraged to overcome every obstacle life brings your way, and to live your life completely for Christ.

A Sinner Like Me

The cross, the cross

what a mighty way to show

Your unfailing love.

What a price that You paid

all for me

Lord I didn’t deserve it

or at least I didn’t believe that I did.

But Lord, my Lord

You thought differently

as You endured the continuous lashings

and the continued ripping of Your flesh.

You did it just for me

as You hung there

upon that old rugged cross

you did it all for me

as the whole earth shook

and the veil was torn.

The prince of darkness

had now witnessed his defeat

as You gave up Your life

for a sinner like me

Such a precious picture of love

as You hung upon that tree

Lord You could have come down

but instead You saw that I would one day

be kneeling before You

surrendering my life to You.

Even way back then

You could see me

as You breathed Your last breath

and lowered Your head as You died.

Lord I still don’t know

exactly what it was

that You saw

but Lord I’m so truly thankful

that it was me

that You saw

as You gave up Your life

for such a sinner as me.

Before it’s Too Late

A little child sits alone,

having no earthly father

no one to call his own

to show him the way

or to usher him along

in the ways that he must go.

As he sits alone,

the lies of the enemy

begin to speak to him.

this child searches and searches,

for a father figure to step in,

and as he searches he finds himself

in the midst of a gang.

Which he believes will lead him,

in the right way.

Father, Your young lambs,

are in need of a touch from you.

Lord put an end to the violence in the streets.

Save the lives of Your youth

from the clutches of the enemy,

Father, do it now before it is too late.

The Proclamation

Bring it on Satan

bring all that you have

Every obstacle that you

believe will hold me back

Satan I dare you

to bring forward all that you have

For I proclaim at this time

that all that you believe

can throw me off track

from this moment on

will have no affect

That you will fall in defeat

with your every attempt

I am covered in the blood of Jesus

and I plead the blood of the Almighty

over all that may come against me

I claim victory right now

the chains of my past are broken
