Author

Thomas Mitchell

After continually being told to ‘use his words’ as a child, Thomas Mitchell took that advice on board and ran with it. Since then his words have appeared all over the place, including in TheSydney Morning Herald, Time Out, The Huffington Post, The New York Times and GQ. A full-time writer, Thomas spends his days googling synonyms and trying not to overstay his welcome at the local cafe.

Never was there any question as to whom this book would be dedicated. It is my loving wife, Sharon Fay Wagner, who provided constant encouragement to write this book. She also gave me the perfect title, which she believed would entice book browsers. She was my soulmate and love of my life and an amazingly intelligent lady. Unfortunately, she passed away after a sudden discovery of lung cancer that had metastasized throughout her chest and back.

    Introduction

This book is a collection of lighthearted stories that should help everyone learn important principles and social awareness to navigate through the long journey of life. The target audience for this book is individuals making changes in their lives. It could be as simple as graduating from high school or college into the workforce, making a career change, or facing retirement.

Since an epiphany at age thirty, your author has been observing people, taking notes, and saving pertinent articles. All the data has been assembled for this eventual publication.

My favorite chapter is the last one in the book entitled Street Sense. It is about very interesting people with commonsense views.

In a depressing moment, shortly after my wife passed, I looked up in the sky and asked her, What do you want me to do? The answer came to my brain immediately: Stop sniveling and write that book. Well, here it is.

I believe almost everyone who reads the book will pick up bits of knowledge that will dramatically affect the course of their life. That is my hope.
