About this ebook

This book is about what the author believes to be the truth about eternal life and salvation as taught by Jesus Christ. The author was confused about this subject because almost every book he looked at used the writings and the quotes of Paul for the answer to this question, and the author did not understand why this is the case. Are these teachings of Paul true or not? So the author started his own investigation by reading the four gospels to see just what Jesus taught about this subject and other books as well. This includes who Jesus was, what he said about himself, what he said was the path to eternal life or salvation, etc.

Teachings of Jesus - John Anderson

    Who is Jesus?

First, some important Catholic—Christian theology about Jesus:

The Catholic Church teaches that the divine Son of God (Spirit) came down from heaven to combine himself with flesh, combining himself with the human person (the human Jesus, body, and spirit) and being born via Mary the mother of Jesus. ² (The divine Son of God became a son of man).

The Catholic Church also believes that all human souls are created at conception and do not exist prior to birth. ³ Existence prior to birth would mean reincarnation but Christians do not believe in reincarnation.

What did Jesus say about himself?

The question before us is the scripture below (John 6:38) describing the spiritual divine Son of God (second spiritual person of the Trinity) descending from heaven combining with flesh or is this Jesus the human soul descending from heaven?

³⁸ For I (Jesus, the human or God the Son) came down from heaven, not to do my own will, but the will of him (The Father God) that sent me. (John 6:38)

Jesus is talking about himself in the above scripture, that God the Father sent Jesus from heaven. Jesus a spiritual human being in heaven would mean Jesus and God are spirits because flesh and blood cannot be in heaven:

²³ But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him… ²⁴ God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth (John 4:23-4).

⁵⁰ Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption; "For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption. (1 Corinthians 15:50).

⁸…but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. (Galatians 6:8).

The question before us is would God the Son say he did not come to do his own will, but the will of the Father? Does God the Son have a different will from God the Father who sent him?

Of course not, God the Son and God the Father are one God with one will not two different wills. This is the key point of this scripture—the Trinity is one God in three persons—One God means they do not have different wills—they are one God with one will not three wills. Therefore, this is not a description of God the Son coming from heaven becoming flesh:

It is a description of Jesus the human soul (a spiritual human being in heaven) coming from heaven (before he was born of Mary, This means he is not God!) being sent by God the Father to do the will of God and not his own will. Jesus as a human soul can certainly have a will different from God the Father and could freely choose to follow or not to follow that will, but Jesus says:

³⁸ Not my own will, but the will of him that sent me. (John 6:38).

We can conclude that Jesus coming down from heaven is not the Spiritual God the Son but an ordinary spiritual human soul like us!

First Reason for the Reincarnation of Jesus

Jesus a human soul in heaven means:

Existence prior to birth is reincarnation and means Jesus a spiritual human being who was in heaven prior his to birth.

Jesus perfects himself in prior lifetimes

Reincarnation for Jesus as a human being means he lived and died on the earth for many lifetimes, working on perfecting himself overcoming sin, self, and the world and when his body died, he lived in heaven as a spirit with the Father and with many other spirits in heaven

If (John 6:38) is describing God the Son, coming down from heaven, he would not say he had a different will from God the Father, He would say I came down from heaven to provide Human Sperm (flesh, not from heaven), David’s Seed, and will be combining His spiritual self with this new human flesh of Jesus and a new human spirit (who did not previously exist) in the womb of Mary, the mother of Jesus forcing Jesus, a new human being, to be the Christ without getting Jesus’ permission, making Jesus a patsy or flunky or puppet of God.

Jesus is a son of David one thousand years after David. Matthew 1:1-16 is showing the descendants of David to Joseph in verse 16, but Mary’s lineage is not given, and Joseph is not the human father of Jesus. Who is the Father of Mary, is he a descendant of David? Where is the proof? So, there is no Biblical evidence that Jesus is related to David:

¹ The book of the genealogy of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham (Matthew 1:1).

³ Regarding his Son, who as to his earthly life was a descendant of David (Romans 1:3).

First Confirmation Holy Spirit Creates Life

¹⁸ Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Spirit (Matthew 1:18).

³⁵ And the Angel answered and said to her (Mary), The Holy Spirit shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore, also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God. (Luke 1:35).

According to the above scriptures (Matthew 1:1; Romans 1:3) the human being, Jesus is a Son of David. According to Matthew 1:18; Luke 1:35 the Holy Spirit is the creator of seed of human sperm of Jesus (not God the Son) related to David that resulted in the birth of Jesus by Mary.

Now, since the Holy Spirit created Jesus the human being in Mary we can safety conclude that the Holy Spirit is the creator of all human beings. Since it has been shown above that Jesus the human spirit came down from heaven to become the Christ, (Jesus speaking of himself John 6:38) we can conclude that the Word was God in John 1:1, that was made flesh John 1:14 is the Holy Spirit, not God the Son or Jesus, a human like us, because the Holy Spirit, as shown above, is the creator of all humanity.

¹ In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God, ² The same was in the beginning with God. ³ All things were made by him (the Holy Spirit) and without him (the Holy Spirit) was not anything that was made. (John 1:1-3).

Creation out of nothing or out of God’s Essence

The Catholic Church states that all creation is created out of nothing ⁵ but there is no scientific proof or Biblical proof of this statement. Science tells us that only two things exist, that is, energy and consciousness. They also tell us "that energy

⁶ (God is light [I John:5-7, that is energy) cannot be created or destroyed" (Einstein)—meaning it has always existed with no beginning or end (like God):

The first law (of thermodynamics), also known as the law of conservation of energy, states that energy cannot be created or destroyed. String Theory provides a method of how energy is created into matter, via vibratory strings of energy. Behind this is the consciousness or intelligence behind its creation, that is, what matter to create, how to create it, how long should it exist, and when it should return to energy.

From the above we have three aspects of God in creation: (1) God the Father, pure Absolute Spirit (independent of creation, omnipresent, omnipotent, omniscient) ever existing, (2) the Holy Spirit, the energy emanating from the Father for the purpose of creation (the vibratory essence of energy into the matter of creation), and (3) the Intelligence of God emanating from the Father (guiding the Holy Spirit in what and how matter should be created). Without the energy and Intelligence of God (the only begotten of the Father John1:14) there can be no matter (Matthew 1:18; Luke 1:35).

We can conclude that God created everything out of His own essence.

The Word in John is not Jesus, it is the Holy Spirit!

As determined above Jesus is a regular human spiritual being who descended from heaven and is not connected with God the Son in any way and since Jesus has not yet received the Holy Spirit, Jesus cannot be the Word or Sound of God the Father, (God is Spirit John 4:23-24) because Jesus has no spiritual power until he is 30 years of age and receives the Holy Spirit (Acts 10:38) that creates all matter:

²³ And Jesus himself began to be about thirty years of age,…(Luke 3:23). At his baptism Luke 3:21-22.

³⁸ How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him. (Acts 10:38). (Jesus receives his power when he was anointed with the Holy Spirit. Before that he did not have any spectacular powers).

¹⁶ And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened (Jesus receives access to heaven) unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: (Matthew 3:16; Mark 1:10; Luke 3:21-22; John 1:32-33).

The Holy Spirit is shown above to be the creator of life in Mary and the creator of all other human beings and includes all other matter, the flesh of God—the Holy Spirit. All things were created by Him (Holy Spirit); and without Him was not anything made that was made (John 1:3). This Word (John 1:1) is the Holy Spirit the vibratory essence of God sent to the earth in the beginning of creation. The Holy Spirit is also the giver of life.

John 1:4 tells us that In him was Life and the life was the light of men. John 6:63 tell us that Spirit is life and 2 Corinthians 3:6 the Spirit giveth life. Thus, the Holy Spirit is the source of all life and the light of men. Without the Holy Spirit imbedded in all creation there can be no life. This is not God the Son, but the Holy Spirit (the vibratory essence of matter) and the Holy Spirit is the Word or Sound" (Greek logos = word or sound) of God John 1:1-18! This also not God creating out of nothing, but creation by the Holy Spirit contrary to Catholic theology.

    The Second Confirmation that

    the Holy Spirit Creates All

This is a second confirmation that the Holy Spirit creates Life and all matter, the first was given above regarding Mary who had the Holy Spirit create the human life of Jesus in her womb.

¹⁰ He was in the world, and the world was made by him, (Holy Spirit) and the world knew him not. (John 1:10).

¹² But as many as received him (Holy Spirit), to them gave he the power to become the sons of God" (John 1:12).

Like Jesus became a son of God. According to the above scriptures all humans can become sons of God via the Holy Spirit. This means that all humans can be like Jesus.

¹⁶And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: ¹⁷And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. (Matthew 3:16-17). ¹⁰

⁴⁹ And behold, I [Jesus] will send the promise of my Father upon you (the Holy Spirit)…ye be endued with power from on high. (Luke 24:49).

¹⁴ And the Word was made flesh, (Greek Logos = Word or Sound of God = vibratory essence of the Holy Spirit and creates all matter including stone and is the flesh of God") and dwelt among us. (and we beheld his glory, the glory [= light the Holy Spirit] as of the only begotten of the Father)…John 1:14.

Jesus an ordinary human spirit from heaven cannot be the Word or the creator. This is true because God the Son, is not present anywhere! Jesus came into the world to do the will of the Father (Jesus is obviously not God the Son otherwise he would not have said the following):

³⁰ I can of my own self do nothing… I seek not mine own will, (again, Jesus has a will of his own and could follow it if he desired, this is same thing we saw in John 6:38) but the will of the Father which hath sent me John 5:30.

From this and the above so far, a person could question if God the Son even exists!

Second Reason for Reincarnation of Jesus:

God asked Mary the mother of Jesus for permission to bear Jesus and she consented:

³⁸ And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. Luke 1:38.

Since God is a just God, he would have done the same for Jesus, that he did for Mary, that is, getting permission via an angel, while Jesus was in heaven before Jesus’ conception as a child via the Holy Spirit:

    Summary of Main Points

This means, that before Jesus (a human being like all of us) was born on the earth,

God through an Angel would have approached Jesus while he was a human soul in heaven and told Jesus that God desired Jesus to be sent to the earth (lowering his spiritual self) to eventually become the Christ on the earth—the anointed one ¹¹ the messiah, one with Holy Spirit—God with power, Acts 10:38, the one who is to come Lk 7:19, the hope of Israel Acts 28:20.

Being the Christ on the earth and get Jesus’ agreement or consent to do this exceedingly difficult task of sacrificing himself for sinners (living the will of the Father) before he sent him from heaven to be born on the earth in a new human body and to show all what it takes to follow the path to eternal life, that of perfection, and divine union with one with the Father. Jesus had to be born of the Virgin Mary as a new human being in another incarnation to be the messiah.

²¹ He shall save his people from their sins Matthew 1:21 (by sacrificing himself, laying down his life for his friends)

¹³ Greater love hath no man than this, that a man laydownhislifeforhisfriends. ¹⁴Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you. John 15:13-14.

This confirms the justice of God and that God would not force any human being to be the Christ without first getting his (Jesus’) permission to be the Christ before he was born, another proof that Jesus existed before he was born—a second reason for reincarnation:

This requires reincarnation for Jesus and all other humans as well.

If a person were to try to figure out the best candidate to be the previous incarnation of Jesus, Elisha (900 BCE) would a good choice because we see him driving 12 oxen symbolic of Jesus and his 12 disciples:

¹⁹ So Elijah went from there and found Elisha son of Shaphat. He was plowing with twelve yoke of oxen, (one or two oxen is normal not 12) and he himself was driving the twelfth pair. Elijah went up to him and threw his cloak around him." 1 Kings 19:19.

In addition, we see after Mary conceived Jesus in her womb, Mary the mother of Jesus went to visit Elizabeth in her 6 month of her pregnancy. When Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the baby in Elizabeth leaped in her womb. This is because Elijah’s spirit of John the Baptist in Elizabeth’s womb (see proof of John the Baptist is Elijah under this section fifth reason for reincarnation) recognized Elisha’s spirit (his disciple of the past) in Mary’s womb from their previous incarnations and leaped for joy.

³⁹ At that time Mary got ready and hurried to a town in the hill country of Judea, ⁴⁰ where she entered Zechariah’s home and greeted Elizabeth. ⁴¹ When Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the baby leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. ⁴² In a loud voice she exclaimed: "Blessed are you among women and blessed is the child you will bear! ⁴³ But why am I so favored, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? ⁴⁴ As soon as the sound of your greeting reached my ears,
