About this ebook

A relationship knit together out of love that holds forever into eternity. The initiator of the relationship, God, took the first bold step out of love by sending His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to die for a world deserving of wrath because of sin. Jesus went to the cross so you don't have to go to hell.God wants to have a relationship with you, not a business transaction where you pay Him to deliver things to you. He invites you to accept His love by believing in His son, Jesus Christ, for salvation and eternal life. With a new life in Christ, you are entitled to enjoy all the blessings God has put in place for His children without sweating. In Straight Outta Love, Joyce will walk you through the love of God while explaining with biblical verses why you must be motivated by the love of God to do all things as required in 1 Corinthians 16:14 (AMP). By understanding God's great and pure love, you will be able to embrace it fully while enjoying His amazing grace.

    Acknowledgments

To God be the glory for all the great things He has done and continues to do in my life. Most importantly, I am thankful for His great love, which sustains me.

I will forever remain grateful to the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of God, who is my personal teacher, counselor, and friend. He did not just throw the idea to write this book at me but also opened my eyes to new knowledge in the Word of God as He led me to supporting Scriptures.

I am also very appreciative of my dear husband, pastor, and friend, Dr. Patrick Quainoo, for his total support every step of the way. His regular teachings and the frequent open discussions we have at home, and sometimes while driving or relaxing, have always been insightful and helpful. Grateful for the many times you held the fort so I can have enough time to write.

To our children Kofi Andoh, Joshua and Rebekah, thank you for spurring me on.

A special acknowledgment of the children at the Volta Home Orphanage at Ve Deme in Ghana, West Africa. They occupy a special place in the bosom of our ministries: Joy in Giving Foundation and Patrick Quainoo Global Ministries.

    I love you all!

    Do everything in love.

    Anything without love is nothing.

    —Joyce Midley-Quainoo

    Introduction

This book is about the greatest, purest, and most unfailing love of God. That love is available to everybody, the whole world. Just as the peace of God is nothing compared to what the world gives (John 14:27), so is the love of God not comparable in any way to the love the world gives.

I have benefited immensely from this deep love of God. From my infancy to my teenage years and all the way to my adult life, I must confess that my life is still being impacted greatly by the love of God.

I am not a love expert. I am a testimony of God's love, and that qualifies me to tell someone about it. Jesus Christ is the ultimate expression of God's love, which makes it possible for all people on the face of the earth to have a relationship with God. The Bible makes us understand that God initiated the relationship by first loving us so we can learn from that love and imitate it.

In this book, I want the unbeliever—the one who has not yet believed in the sacrifice God made for the world, Jesus Christ—to know that Jesus Christ loves them no matter where they have been or what they have done in the past. For this reason, they can't give up on themselves or continually hate themselves. If they will only accept the gift of God's love—Jesus Christ—and believe in Him, they can become children of God. They can embrace the love of God and begin to enjoy an eternal relationship with God through Jesus Christ.

I also want to remind the believer, the one who has believed and continue to put their trust in Christ Jesus, that they are in the new covenant established with the blood of Jesus Christ. The new covenant is grace and truth and is founded on the unconditional love of God. In the new covenant, believing Jews and Gentiles enjoy the same status as children of God. The old covenant, on the other hand, was an agreement specifically between God and the Israelites or Jews. Without Jesus Christ, you and I (Gentiles) would probably never qualify to enjoy a relationship with God. This is well captured in Ephesians 2:12 (AMP):

Remember that at that time you were separated from Christ [excluded from any relationship with Him], alienated from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers to the covenants of promise [with no share in the sacred Messianic promise and without knowledge of God's agreements], having no hope [in His promise] and [living] in the world without God.

Therefore, I'm grateful to God for the sacrifice of love. By understanding the unconditional love of God and the ultimate expression of it, it becomes easy to accept that love, understand that love, and even easier to reciprocate that love. Understanding the love of God will motivate believers to worship God straight out of love, not out of expectations or to fulfill a religious obligation.

Our heavenly Father takes care of us because of the unmerited favor of grace. He is not waiting for your service or worship before He does anything for you. He loved you to mark the beginning of a love story, and that love was not based on anything anybody did. No! While love from the world wavers, the love from God is steadfast. His mercies are new every morning irrespective of our loyalty or failures. It is necessary that believers be sincere in their worship as a demonstration of love and trust in God. Serving God must never be a burden but a blessing.

This book may not capture everything about the subject of love, but it has enough information to enrich your knowledge about God's love that will make a significant impact in your faith walk. I want you to read this book because it is a combination of knowledge from the Bible with the kind help of the Holy Spirit and some personal experiences as well as the stories that people have shared with me. Simply put, this book is a story of love, faith, family, and experience. It is my prayer that the
