About this ebook
This is a true story of faith, hope, and love that happened to two average people who came from small towns in Iowa, the heartland of America. God has blessed both of us with miracles, time and again, asking nothing in return except for love and reverence for Him. This is our testimony. As we look back at our lives, it often becomes clear that God intervened, at times and in ways that we did not understand. His plans for us aren't always or even very often understood, but they are always perfect, and all we have to do is believe, have faith, and trust Him. While reflecting on our lives, we decided that the story of how God had blessed us so abundantly, time and again with true miracles, had to be told. This book was born with the goal to glorify God in thankful praise for His blessings to our lives and to give hope to all those facing life's challenges every day. Never give up! God does answer prayer and we are living proof of His grace and love. Miracles do happen every day. Never stop believing.

This book is dedicated to our children and grandchildren, as an affirmation of God’s love for us and his answer to prayer in our lives. As each person examines their life, many signs of the miracles God has done in their life becomes apparent. All we have to do is search our hearts, and we can’t help but see them.
Somewhere in our world, a miracle is probably happening this very minute, but when you have many amazing miracles that happen to two different people who found each other late in life due to another miracle, it’s a story that has to be told.
This is a true story of hope, faith, and love that happened to two average people who came from small towns in Iowa—the heartland of America.
Very late in life, Bill and Karen found each other in spite of the odds against it. Karen was happy with her life. She had a lot of friends, and she enjoyed spending time with them whenever possible, as she also ran her massage therapy business which demanded her time and attention. One of her many clients who was also a close friend had joined an online dating service, and after some time decided she didn’t need the service any longer, so she insisted on giving her remaining membership months to Karen, who reluctantly accepted though she never intended to make use of the site. After putting her information on the site, she soon forgot about it and went on with life.
In the meantime, Bill had joined a different online dating service but hadn’t found anyone of interest. Even though they weren’t using the same dating site, Bill came across Karen’s information and sent her a message to introduce himself. They met and talked, dated, and fell in love. A year later, they were married and settled down to a life together.
As time went on, it became clear that these two average people had both experienced amazing miracles in their lives, and God had brought them together so they could tell their amazing story to the world, giving praise and glory to God for His blessings in their lives.
Bill’s Testimony
In 1941, I was born to a young couple who lived, at the time, on a farm in rural Iowa. Life wasn’t easy for me from the start with health challenges from an early age. At six months of age, Mastoiditis struck and demanded urgent surgery. The surgery was successful, but it left me with subpar hearing in my left ear, a condition that has affected me ever since.
As time went by, life seemed to be normalized with the addition of a brother when I was about two. However, during the summer of my ninth year, while riding bikes with some friends I took a bad fall which resulted in a broken left arm and a trip to the family doctor. He decided to do an x-ray to determine the extent of the damage, and it was a good thing he did, as it showed a dark spot at the exact point of the break. This revelation was of concern, so upon the doctor’s recommendation, the film was sent to an expert for assessment and course of action, if needed.
Weeks later my parents received a call from the doctor’s office and a request that we come for a talk
regarding the results of the x-ray inquiry. Several days later, as we sat with the doctor in his office, it was apparent his mood was quite serious. He proceeded to tell us that the consensus of the experts was that my arm broke not only because of the fall but also because at that exact spot there appeared to be a tumor that had weakened the bone, so it was more fragile than a normal bone. He went on to say that they would have to keep a close eye on me to see if this tumor spreads to more places.
This news was, of course, a scary bit of information for someone my age and a major concern for my parents, but as time went on, its significance faded until one day when I was about twelve. I was delivering my paper route when another bike incident brought it all back with a vengeance. I hit a tree stump that was hidden in the tall grass and was propelled onto the handlebars, cracking several ribs and instantly causing me a lot of pain.
Having a new family doctor who was not familiar with my broken arm incident, the x-rays taken of my chest were not considered to be of particular interest except as they related to the current situation. My parents, however, ultimately decided that our previous family doctor should see the films as a precaution. This move proved to be extremely
