About this ebook

Faith leaders and organizational leaders alike need real, usable strategies for counseling themselves and those they lead. STACT provides these strategies by using ¬ The Human Operating Systems for Getting What God Wants You to Have. Everyone who approaches their leaders for help or counseling do so because their needs are not being met in their own life. ¬ These unmet needs lead to every problem facing people today. STACT addresses these needs in a compassionate, efficient manner, and empowers people to make the choices that create healthy meaningful lives. The principles are ones that everyone can learn without requiring years of intense counseling or intervention. Using STACT frees leaders to delegate counseling when it is not within their own giftings or desires while helping to meet the needs of their congregations or organizations.

    Opening Prayer

Father God, we come before you in the name of Jesus who is our Lord and Savior—the one with whom you gave all power and authority in heaven and on earth, the one who is the alpha and the omega, the author and finisher of our faith because He is the faith, and the one to whom every knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess that Jesus is Lord! Father, we pray that you will teach us how to counsel ourselves, then others, through your Holy Spirit’s counseling, teaching, and leadership.

Teach us how to activate the mind of Christ in us and apply principles you deposited in us to teach scripture therapy, choice theory psychology, and life experiences to enable individuals to access what you want them to have.

Bless every hand, mind, and heart that connect with this writing. Grant the readers abundant anointing, tenacity, faith, works, and belief in your Word, character, and love to help themselves and others enhance their relationship, behavior, choices, and trust in you.

Place in the readers boldness, confidence, and the will to self-examine their needs, wants, and the pictures they have in their head to effectively and responsibly connect to your will, purpose, place, and position for them; hear the voice of the Holy Spirit; yield to His instructions; and glorify you in their thinking, acting, feeling, and psychology.

We pray you will use this book, its training materials, TV broadcast, and us to bring reality to your Word and teach others why and how they behave in reference to you and others. Father God, we choose to help clergies, CEOs, business owners, organization leaders, counselors, and individuals who are overwhelmed with counseling needs of their members, employees, and volunteers. Lead us Lord to lead them. We pray that you will use this book and us to help ministries, businesses, individuals, and organizations receive what you want them to have.

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. (John 3:16, NKJV)

I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. (John 10:10, NKJV)

But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth. (Acts 1:8, NKJV)

We pray that the readers use their gifts, talents, and power, through the Holy Spirit, to spread the gospel of Jesus, perfect and equip individuals for the work of the ministry, and operate under the power and authority of Jesus, as they make disciples.

Father God, we pray that this writing will be the beginning of bringing reality to the principles you deposited in us to teach unity without bondage as a means of helping individuals embrace diverse races, cultures, and beliefs, become recalibrated to your Spirit, and communicate to all that Jesus is Lord and we are children of God, blessed to be a blessing to others, anointed, called and assigned to disciple others with the Word of God.

Now, Father God, we thank you and give you the praise, glory, and honor for what you have done, are doing, and will do to glorify yourself. We pray you will grant wisdom, knowledge, and understanding to your readers and those you called to team with us as we teach Scripture Therapy.

In Jesus’s mighty and matchless name. Amen.

    Foreword

The world is blessed with this publication of a wonderful new book combining scripture therapy and Glasser’s concepts of choice theory and reality therapy. The authors, Les and RoxAnne Triché, have blended their skills to produce a powerful book that has the potential of helping people from all kinds of backgrounds and systems of belief.

I’ve seen firsthand how the authors work with people to help empower them to literally change their lives for the better. I’ve also seen the warmth and humor they use in their teaching of these ideas. The Trichés are a dynamic duo, and their book is a must-read for anyone who wants to enhance their spirituality and improve their happiness quotient on day one. Scripture therapy helps people see their real purpose in life and how they can contribute to mankind now and for generations to come.

The Trichés are Glasser-trained experts at teaching choice theory, which explains human behavior, and reality therapy, which provides a method for solving some of life’s most pressing problems.

Combined with scripture therapy, relationships will improve, and a whole new world of people at peace with each other can become a reality.

Authors’ Comment Regarding the Use of Scripture

We encourage you to use your own systems of belief and apply them to the information here. We are Christians, and as such, these materials are based on Scripture, what we hold to be the Word of God. Please take the way you experience faith and God and utilize it within self-counseling with scripture therapy and choice theory. This information is for everyone, from every belief, faith, and background. As you engage in the exercises and other process, choose the system of belief that will best enable you to respond to the information and exercises.

Our materials have no beginning and no end! This is a continual process.

This is not an unvarying blueprint for our targeted audience’s counseling, leadership, organizational structure, and training and development where one would start at step one and move on in a neatly ordered fashion to the final step of the process. Rather, it is a journey that meets you where you are right now and empowers you to continually progress, grow, and help others. As you apply what you have learned, you will continue to find better ways to meet your own needs through the process of internal empowerment.

We teach godly counseling principles, solutions, and examples of how you can self-evaluate under the leadership of the Holy Spirit and assume the lead role in using godly principles to help yourself and others realize needs, wants, and visions.

    Acknowledgments

Linda Quass, as our primary technical writer to this material, we are extremely blessed to be able to bless the world with our teachings as a result of your contribution. Your work has enabled us to close the gap between secular and spiritual teaching needs, enabling us to make accessible these teachings throughout the world. Your unequivocal support and collaboration will continue to steer us in a methodically focused delivery of our materials that lends itself to easy understanding by our readers and, in some cases, radio and television viewers. Carmen Klassen, it seems like it was just yesterday when we asked you to be a part of our writing team. You graciously accepted our invitation. You have added much value to our publications that have expanded from our first book, Scripture Therapy and Choice Theory, to university focus groups, workshops, training CEOs, and, now, weekly articles and an international internet TV and radio station.

Thank you. These activities, designed to glorify God, could not have been possible without your wisdom, understanding, and expertise in the field of psychology and, of course, the sensitivity and appropriate application of the Word of God in our writing. Again, thank you, and may God continue to bless you, your family, and your business.

Carleen Glasser, since 2007, you and your husband, the late renowned William Glasser, MD, have deposited seeds of reality therapy and choice theory psychology in to my life and RoxAnne’s life for the last six years. As a result of the time, resources, and wisdom you deposited in us, we now see the fruits of our labor in thousands of individuals, from state prisons to CEOs in Newport Beach, California. Thank you!

We are elated to help expand the legacy of Dr. Glasser and training programs for the Glasser Institute for Choice Theory. Your contributions are invaluable and makes teaching the world choice theory, from a Scripture perspective, possible. None of this would be happening without your support, teaching, and mentoring. Thank you!

You have repeatedly proven the application of the principles and practices of these teaching materials and enable participants to work toward meeting their needs and wants, which can be achieved when aligned with the Word of God. Thank you for videotaping our training sessions, being the beta test for our teaching materials, and for bringing life to the role play exercises.
