    About the Author

For my children John, James, and Jeana. It has been my pleasure and honor to have been granted the privilege of your choice to come through me in this life. There are no words that will ever truly convey to you the happiness you have brought into my life and continue to do so.

To my grandchildren, you are the dawning of new life which dreams are made of and have inspired me beyond your current comprehension.

To my mom, brothers, and sister. Our lives together help to shape the person I have become. Our brief time together taught me who I am and who I am not, I am grateful for all and everyone.

Thank you to John and Vicki for the cover artwork, and a special thanks to my grandson Johnny Bryson as the cover model. You are amazing.

    Introduction

As a columnist of dream interpretation, I found many people have been led to believe their dreams are merely part of their imagination. I have heard dreams described as fantasy, exaggerated desires, reactions to our daily events, and much more.

Our dream state is the highest level of consciousness we can reach—delta state. Our interaction with our dream through interpretation is the highest level of care one can give oneself. When considering, every self-help book reminds you that change begins with you. Whether you are working on a health issue, an emotional problem, or personal physical condition, you are always going to have to accept that you have some level of healing, understanding, and/or change has to come from you. Access to this vital information is key to change.

Learning to analyze and utilize the information your delta state gifts you with rewards you in all aspects of your life. Awareness is the first step to resolving any circumstance. Your dream state can create an awareness of a potential situation as well as current issues. Making a connection between your waking state and your sleeping state is, in my opinion, the most valuable gift you can give yourself.

My column was to introduce how readers sending me dream stories could help them find answers they did not know they were looking for or perhaps may not even know they were being asked as well as to reconnect them with the collective consciousness that holds the answers to all of our questions which is their dreams, the always accessible and often untapped reliable information that is within you and available through you.

Sharing interpretations of dream stories creates a deeper understanding of the impact your dream state can have on your waking life; how it can pave an avenue you did not know existed, ignite a flame that had lain dormant within you, and create an awareness of your strengths and gifts; how your connection with your dream state can offer you alternatives and even offer solutions to circumstances you had felt helpless or defeated in. We share common factors of dreams; at times we may be falling, flying, driving, or running, other times screaming or even singing, in some cases being heard and others not at all. Your personal feelings on these subjects are what define them. Reoccurring dreams are important to pay attention to; there is reason they repeat themselves. The information they contain should not be ignored, and by sharing the dreams and responses, it is easier to see the value.

The greatest gift you will ever get you have forgotten and need to remember.

If you do not think you have time or it just doesn’t make sense to waste the time to try, give yourself one week to get something from it, or move on. If you cannot remember entire dreams and most times only fragments, it still makes sense to incorporate the minute into your morning to make available to you the information you need, want, and desire.

You may not understand everything all the time, but in time you will understand it all.

Quick example of one fragmented dream: I am running, it’s dark, I fall.

You might think this is a silly dream, I am not afraid of the dark. The dream is really telling you that you are running from a person, place, or situation that you care to remain in the dark about, therefore avoiding it. Often the simplest detail of a dream can enlighten us to a whole new us.

    How to See Your Answers

Start by keeping a pen and paper beside your bed.

Consider what in life your last thoughts are before retiring for the evening. Write them down.

Before you rise from bed, write down every detail of any dream you can remember. The act of sitting up, putting your feet on the ground changes your level of consciousness in a matter of seconds. How often do we wake up and say, Whoa, what a crazy dream! What was that? and shortly after have forgotten all the details. Vital information can be interrupted and lost so easily and unconsciously.

Once your dream has been scribbled down, email me at dreamretriever@yahoo.com. Please leave a return email.

My best understanding sometimes comes from speaking with individuals and knowing what in their life is fueling their dreams. I look forward to hearing your dreams and giving you the ability to gain strength and knowledge of your delta state. I find it I understand the connection between scenarios when shown examples. These chapters contain just that—several hundred dreams and their interpretations.

    Chapter 1

    Reasons for the Rhymes

There are so many reasons why we dream, but to constantly remind ourselves to keep that part of our conscious level conscious is the core reason. It will warn us, praise us, educate us and enlighten us, aid in our evolution, maturity, and so much more if we remain engaged with it. Underlying causes of the dream is imperative to determine, and it is most obvious by how you feel when dreaming or upon awaking from the dream.

This is most obvious for those who suffer from anxiety and have nightmares that spring you out of bed. Many people suffer from anxiety in one form or another. Oftentimes prior to the onset of an anxiety attack, you find yourselves having repetitive dreams with common factors.

Your higher state of consciousness is trying to avoid anxiety by determining the cause of the stressful situation. By having an emotional understanding of the stress, we can change the outcome.

Prior to the anxiety, situations in our dreams can be common. Dreams of losing teeth, being locked out of a place or thing we would normally have access to, running in an unfamiliar place without feeling lost, visions of ourselves screaming without sound, and often falling endlessly but without harm—all of which touch on the core emotion of fear, trying to protect ourselves while feeling as if we cannot.

We are repeating these scenarios in our dreams only with different events taking place. Find the common factor in each dream as you write them down. These events and circumstances are what you need to focus on to resolve what is causing your anxiety.

The following dreams show several different scenarios of messages I have received, many letters asking why is it that some people remember their dreams and so many do not. The answer is quite simple. If you are involved in doing something that you do on a regular basis, this is oftentimes when you’re not paying attention, just going through the motions. You do this when you are driving down an open road or simply washing the dishes. Paying attention to your dream state is the same thing. If you feel there is nothing to gain from interpreting your dreams or understanding them, you simply will not remember them. If, in fact, you believe that your dreams are insight to your life, your future or past, your current situations, and so on, you are more likely to remember them. The more important anything is to you, the more attention you give it. The same is true when it comes to your dreams. The act of writing down questions before you go to bed and keeping a dream journal beside your bed are conscious decisions we make to interact with the subconscious mind. The more that you put in during your awake state, the more you get out of your sleep state.

    Don’t Dream

    Dear dream retriever,

I love your column. I have enjoyed reading about other people’s dreams as well as your interpretations of them.

I don’t dream. Or at least I don’t remember my dreams and I was wondering why that is. Is there anything I can do to change this? I have many questions in my life and seek to understand so many different circumstances that surround me.

    Dont Dream, Lunenburg

    Don’t Remember

    Dear Dream retriever,

Does everybody dream? I know that I do but I can never remember them in the morning. Sometimes I can remember fragments of them, but not the whole dream. I also dream in color, and sometimes can just remember the color in the dream and none of the dream at all.

    Remembering Dream, Billerica

As I have mentioned in previous articles the most important thing for you to do is make a conscious effort to write down questions then to repeat a question as you fall asleep. Keep notes of anything you remember when you awake.

Whatever it is about the dream you remember is the most important part of the message you were to receive. Colors all have meanings; keep a journal. Whenever we look back on lives, it is so important to remember everything that leads you to where you are. It has molded you into the person you have become.

All of your life events have given you the compassion, strength, love, and determination that have kept you on the path you are on. Your weaknesses, disappointments, and self-undoings serve to enlighten the path you walk upon as well. You are the bearer of your own light, and the light at the end of the tunnel is your light, your responsibility to keep it lit for guidance.

    Reminders through Messages

    Dear Dream Retriever,

I am in a parade, I am riding an elephant, and it is green. Everyone is celebrating something but I do not know what. I am waving to the crowd of people and I look down and a yellow baby elephant is beside me. No one is on it. Then I am in a really shabby neighborhood and this man is begging for change. I drop a $5 bill in and she thanks me. I continue to walk and it begins to pour. I start to run and as I get to an awning where I can get shelter a yellow car pulls up and opens the door. I go to get in and I wake up.
