About this ebook
This is a story of a young, God-loving boy who spread God's Word and was an inspiration to others. The story and title came to me as I restlessly lay in bed unable to go to sleep. I understood the reason for this book was because children need to understand how much Jesus loves them. I was inspired at the time that the title must be Mighty Adventures with Jesus. I want to dedicate this book to my dad, James Glenford Gossom (1934""1989), my biggest supporter, my inspiration, and my best friend. "Above all, love each other deeply because love covers over a multitude of sins." (1 Pet. 4:8)

Preface
On the eve of November 18, 2007, I had a severe case of insomnia. I had spent the entire night trying to sleep. My mind was vivid but my body exhausted. I had tossed and turned and felt the need to remove myself from the bed so my husband could rest. I can’t emphasize enough how clear and alert my mind was but also how tired my body felt.
I viewed the clock multiple times, watching November 18 become November 19. I paced the floor, had several drinks of water from the kitchen, and found myself looking out the windows, watching what seemed like the whole world sleep. At one thirty in the morning, I decided to play piano knowing that Christian music would be soothing and relaxing and then maybe I could sleep. I played until two thirty. After an hour of looking at music, my eyes burnt so bad that I knew for sure that when I closed them, I would be able to sleep.
I eased my body back into bed, trying not to wake my husband. I lay there for fifteen minutes and couldn’t stand to lie there anymore. I retrieved two pillows from the bed and went to the couch. As I lay there, I noticed the light at the end of the hall that shone within the fish tank. The blinds over the windows were open enough that I could see the neighbors’ houses, vehicles, and the trees from their security light. I covered my body with a throw, lay down, and said, God, if I’m not going to sleep, please let me rest!
I closed my eyes and immediately saw a box with a silhouette of a man pacing from the left side of the box to the right repeatedly. He was dressed in solid black with a top hat on. The background of the box was a beautiful blue at the top that mellowed out to a dark gray at the bottom. He stopped pacing, looking frontward at me, and said, I want you to write a book.
Immediately, my eyes opened, my feet hit the floor, and I found myself standing in the kitchen saying out loud, What was that?
I thought, I must have fallen asleep. I’m dreaming!
After drinking a glass of water, I went back to the couch once again knowing that when I closed my eyes, I would only see black. I closed my eyes again, and to my astonishment, once again, there was the box with the man pacing back and forth. I jumped up once again from the couch, and now I am pacing, saying out loud, I know I was not asleep! What was that? Who was that? Write a book? I’m not an author! I can’t write a book!
I reclined back on the couch after about ten minutes with my eyes wide open. I lay there wondering, If I close my eyes, will I see this again?
There was no doubt in my mind! I knew I was awake! I lay there and had convinced myself that if I closed my eyes and saw it once again, I would continue to watch and finish it out.
I closed my eyes for the third time, and waiting this time with anticipation, the box appeared and there he was pacing. His pacing stopped, and the small silhouette of a man became huge, speaking out of the box loudly, I want you to write a book!
I responded by saying, I can’t write a book!
His response was, Doubting Tanya?
I said, I’m not a doubting Thomas! Sorry.
Immediately, I viewed a room with small preschool children around me, one being my second cousin Maggie, and I was holding a four-page hardcover book. Each page was just a solid color—one red, one blue, one yellow, and one green.
As the children looked at the pages and saw there was nothing to see but the colors, the man returned and said, No, not that age. Kelsey’s age!
Kelsey is my great niece who is a preteen and in sixth grade.
He continued by saying, I’m losing them! They don’t know how much I love them! They just don’t know!
The man disappeared, and I viewed what is told in my book from chapter 21 until the very end. I have never been so overcome from such beauty, awesomeness, tragedy, and ideas that my mind had never conceived.
When you read, you will see that this chapter starts out with a young boy, Jamie, and a young girl, Haven. Immediately, I felt these emotions that overwhelmed me. I was trying to figure out why I was feeling anything at all! Being female, I just assumed that I must be feeling an emotional connection with Haven, but to my surprise, I was actually feeling the emotions displayed by the young boy, Jamie.
After viewing chapter 24, I gasped for breath with my arms in an X shape across my chest. I sat straight up with my eyes still closed, realizing that I was holding myself in a hugging position. I took a deep breath and tried to relax. I then lay flat on my back and was shown the conclusion of the book in chapter 25.
Once again, the box appeared with the silhouette of a man, and he spoke softly, saying, I want you to write this book. They must know how much I love them.
I asked, What will I name it?
Out loud, I heard my voice say, My Adventures with Jesus?
I physically raised my arms, unknowing and thinking to myself, Where in the world did that come from?
He paced from left to right in the box, shaking his head no. Seeing this and knowing he was not in agreement with the title that I myself was wondering where it even came from, I asked again, My Adventures with Jesus?
He was still pacing and shaking his head no. Wanting an acceptable response from him, in my disbelief, I found myself once again asking for the third time, My?
He interrupted and said loudly, "T."
I finished the title out by saying, Adventures with Jesus?
Then I asked, Mighty Adventures with Jesus?
He responded with his head nodding in an absolute yes!
Being human and knowing that many people would think I was just dreaming, I had to ask, Will it sell?
He nodded his head yes.
I told him, This is nothing I have ever done before, and I can’t do it without you.
He said, I have shown you the end of the book, and I am always with you. Let them know how much I love them.
At four forty-five, I opened my eyes and immediately got paper and pencil and started to draw what I had seen to the best of my ability. I didn’t want to forget anything, yet after three years, it is still so vivid in my mind and always will be.
My husband entered the living room at a quarter part five and asked, What in the world are you doing, and have you been up all night?
I continued to draw and nodded my head yes and said, I will never be the same after what I had just experienced.
As he left for a presentation he had to give, I went to bed and found that I could not sleep. At eleven that morning, I took out my laptop and said to God, You know I am willing, and I can’t do this myself. Please give me all the characters’ names and display the kind of love in these words that you want me to convey to these children. I’m completely relying on you.
Within a matter of minutes, the story started and was completed in four months.
