Introduction
I have decided to write a short story on abuse, for it’s often hidden behind closed doors because of the embarrassment. There are many of females and males who are being abused every second. Men too are victims of abuse. There are different types of abuse, such as physical, emotional, and sexual that all factor in and are performed by the abuser. Some people often get involved with the abuser because he/she was charming and just appeared to have it all together. Many people often miss signs of the abuser’s behaviors or maybe the abuser never showed any signs at that time. However, when the behavior is presented in a form of a punch, name-calling, or touching without permission, many will stay with the abuser despite all the signs that the abuser presented. Some people who stay with the abuser have their reasons, but often times, many may end up dead by the hands of these abusers. This is not a true story, but this story will portray what happens in the life of a person who lives with an abuser.

Summer of 2015, Melissa and Tanya was at the county fair, indulging on ice cream cones, walking and looking at people as they played games at the fair in New York. While Melissa and Tanya were spectators of others playing games, Darryl who was alone at the county fair had his eyes fixated on Melissa. Melissa noticed that on the other side of the counter where the games were being played there was a handsome man with beautiful green eyes staring at her. Melissa then tapped Tanya on her arm without Darryl seeing it and gave Tanya the eye that the man across the counter was staring at her.
Melissa:
Girl, that sexy fine man over there is staring and smiling at me. Do you think I should wave at him?
Tanya:
No, Melissa, if he wants to say something, then let him make the first move. I know that he is fine and all that, so wait and let him chase you.
Melissa:
You are right because here he comes, and wow, he is fine and sexy.
Tanya:
Play it cool. Don’t look too desperate. I know you haven’t had any sex in months, and maybe he may get a chance to turn that kitty kat inside out.
Melissa:
You are silly. With this sexy walk, girl, maybe he may turn this kitty kat inside out tonight.
Tanya:
Here he comes, girl, just relax.
Darryl:
Hello, ladies, are you enjoying the county fair?
Tanya:
Yes, we are having a great time. Melissa, I am going to buy a bottle of water and will be back in a few.
Melissa:
OK, I will meet up with you in a few minutes.
Darryl:
Hi, my name is Darryl, and may I ask what your name is?
Melissa:
My name is Melissa.
Darryl:
What a beautiful name for such as beautiful lady. I was hoping we can have dinner, and I leave it up to you to pick the date and time.
Melissa:
I am available next Saturday at 8:00 p.m. Will that work for you?
Darryl:
That works for me, so here is my business card. Just call me with your information, and I will be there to pick you up. It was nice meeting you and will see you next weekend.
Melissa:
This is my business card. Enjoy your day!
Tanya:
I saw that he was leaving, so I dashed over for the juicy news on him. So give it to me.
Melissa:
Well, you already know that he is fine with a capital F. His name is Darryl and the charm that comes with him made me want to give up the kitty kat. We are going out to dinner this upcoming Saturday at 8:00 p.m., so he will be picking me up at my house at 8:00 p.m.
Tanya:
I am so glad for you because that kitty kat of yours haven’t been touched in almost a year and it is about time that Mr. Darryl put a smile and a dent on it.
Melissa:
You are nasty girl, but I do feel you on that. Are you ready to get out of here because I have a project that I need to finish before that date with Darryl?
Tanya:
Yes, I am ready too, but I want to hear all about that date later.
Saturday night at 7:00 p.m., Darryl called Melissa at home to get her home address where she lived alone. Melissa gave Darryl the address to her home in suburban New York. One hour later, Darryl was at Melissa’s home and was invited in so that she could grab her purse. Darryl looked around and had seen that her home was lavished with many beautiful colors of lavender, olive green, apple red, and yellow. The furniture was a décor by a well-known designer. After Melissa grabbed her purse, Darryl told her how beautiful her home was. The two exited the home and got inside Darryl’s BMW.
Darryl:
Melissa, you have a beautiful home and well designed, if I should say so.
Melissa:
Thank you. I had help with the designing of my home from a good friend.
Darryl:
We are going to this restaurant that I have never been to, but researched that it is nice and hope that you will like it.
Melissa:
I am sure that I will like it because you are with me.
Darryl:
That is the best news I heard today and thank you for saying that.
Melissa:
Tell me a little about you, Darryl, since I am in a car with a man I hardly know.
Darryl:
