Prologue: The Decision

The stories and legends of Greek Mythology have always been passed down orally and it gave the younger generation after Ancient Greece to learn from it. Even the Romans adapted the Greek myths into their version.

But we all know that Greek Mythology was something to be listened to because there was something that we can learn and teach others about knowledge. The myths were used to explain the creation of the universe that we know, the relationships that might go wrong, and do not be arrogant or you will face the consequences.

Sure, Ancient Greece civilization has ended but the myth lived on. 

And who knows, you might encounter the Greek Gods themselves if they ever reincarnated as mortals in this modern era.

I have always been fascinated with the Greek myths since I was in middle school when teachers would tell the stories of the Greek Gods and Goddesses. I don’t know why but Dionysus, God of Wine was very appealing to me. It resonated with me maybe because I was a wine empire heiress. I kind of wished that he would not be only the myth that people have always been saying.

And I should have known that be careful what you wish for.

My name is Gabriella Lombardi and this is my encounter with Greek myth in the flash.

It was one Friday morning when I was receiving unexpected news from my long lost best friend, Tammy Costa. She was inviting me to be at her wedding reception this Saturday night. In which it was tomorrow night.

I don’t think I would go but she has insisted that she wanted me to come. She even sent me the invitation herself.

You know, I never knew that you were the one that was in charge of the Lombardi wine industry. How come you never told me this before? Tammy asked me when she was sipping on her tea. I was looking at the wedding band and engagement ring that was glistening on her left hand. I smiled at her.

Well, you never asked so I thought I don’t have to brag about that, I said as I was sipping on my tea before Tammy was arching her eyebrows at me. She took the invitation from her handbag and gave it to me. I smiled before I was looking at the name of her husband.

It was Ryes Ares Caprioli, the brother of Niles Caprioli.

So, you promise you’ll come? I have been waiting this day since we were little kid. I want you to be there with me, Tammy said as I sighed. I nodded at her as she was squirming in delight now.

Good, I hope you dress well, she said as she was taking her to leave when her husband was calling for the nth time now.

You know, Ryes was very demanding when he wanted to be, Tammy said as she was typing a text to her husband. I was laughing at her statement.

Men, they only do what was suitable for them. Not taking into accounts of anyone around them, I said as I was walking with her to the front door before I was smiling at her. Tammy laughed.

Well, you know men better than I do, Tammy said as I was arching my eyebrow at her.

Excuse me? What? I said as Tammy was winking at me. She was walking down the stairs before she shouted at me.

You’re the heiress! Of course, you know men better than me. They worship you at your feet, I see you tomorrow! She said as she was waving at me before her husband was opening the door for her. Tammy slid inside the car before I was waving at her when the car was moving away from me right now.

Yeah right. Like the men worship me. I mean, never! I mumbled before I was getting inside the house again. I was taking in the big house that I lived all by myself. I was looking at the undisturbed sofas and all the stuff that was in their place. I sighed before I was taking my seat by the sofa again and I was looking at the invitation again.

I was reading it again and again until I was getting it right. Tammy Costa was married to Ryes Ares Caprioli.
