Seeds
Seeds are all around us—a symbol of beginnings in life. All your favorite fruits, vegetables, trees, and flowers started from seeds. A case can be made that we all came from seeds or embryos, which develop into a fetus, which is determined by its gestational age.
The seed, along with being a symbol for new beginnings, represents the potentiality of nature. How something that starts so small can develop into something so great with time and nourishment. In its own time and in the right place, with all the right conditions being met, oh, how great it could be. Seeds of thought, seeds of action, seeds of preparation all manifest in its own time. The Great Wall of China to the Colosseum of Rome and the Taj Mahal of India to the great pyramids of Egypt—all began with a seed of thought. These seeds of thought developed into seeds of actions, and whoa, some of the greatest marvels of mankind were created. In all seriousness, this manifestation does not happen overnight. In reality, when you plant a seed, it is not even guaranteed to grow. Different seeds have different requirements to grow and reach their full potential. It is interesting to note that a seed can remain dormant for thousands of years and still sustain the ability to grow. But until it is placed in the right place, with all the right conditions being met, it will not develop and reach its full potential.
Now before the ascent of the seed can emerge, all the right conditions must exist. And even though all seeds are individual seeds with few exceptions, nature lays the blueprint and guidelines for the rules that should be met. Most seeds require moisture, warmth, and nutrient-rich soil to begin the germination process. Most thoughts or ideas require repetition, reinforcement, practice, and trial and error, along with a litany of other factors, to be successful. And once the germination process begins, factors like sunlight, ambient temperature, and even the quality of the seed itself play a critical role in its development.
There is a large segment of seeds that in order to begin to sprout, they need to be kept in a dark, warm place. The warmth gives the seed the comfort and courage to build the strength to come out of its seed shell. The darkness provides it seclusion from the light that it is not yet ready to receive. Our thoughts and ideas can be likened unto seeds. The ones we care for the most often do the best. And before we can achieve it, we must first believe it. Our attitude and philosophy of life, whether good or bad or somewhere in-between, when watered, will produce. And over time will take root. What seeds have we planted in the past? What did they produce? What kind of seeds are we planting today? What kind of harvest are we expecting? Have we did everything within our power to give our goals a healthy start? And have we set out goals to meet along the way, from planting time to the harvest?
Now when the seed is ready, it begins to prepare itself, often sprouting roots before its stem and leaves develop. The seed understands the importance of being rooted and having a strong foundation. When the seed develops into a full plant, its roots will continue to be a staple throughout the duration of the plant’s life. Reserved attention to this vital conduit of resource extraction is paramount. The full root system of plants is not always visible, but they are the movers and shakers working behind the scenes, keeping everything going.
