First of all, I want to thank my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Jesus, you are everything to me. In the words of the great gospel songwriter Fred Hammond: my future and my history, my freedom and my liberty, my strength, my joy, my life, my peace, oh Lord you’re everything to me. I know I absolutely don’t deserve everything you have given me, but I’m so glad you still allow me to hear your voice. I am forever grateful. You have given me the words to write for this book. I am an author because I am listening to your voice.

I would like to thank my amazing wife and children. April, you have kept me laughing from the very first day I met you. I can’t believe how much you believe in me. I love you so much and thank you for being by my side. To my son, Ronald, my message to you has always been the same: take the Boyd name and be greater than I ever was. I am so proud to be called your father and you have taken our last name and made it greater. I love you forever. Memorie, my daughter, you are all the good things about your mother and I rolled into one person. You have been blessed with so many gifts. I’m honored to be your father and I love you so much. You are my sweetheart and I will always be there for you as long as I’m on this earth.

The spiritual journey with my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ would not be what it is without the support and leadership of my spiritual parents in the ministry: Bishop Harvey B. Bee and First Lady Veronica G. Bee. I love my spiritual parents. They are the founders of Christian Fellowship Church, Home of the Uplifting Ministries. Spiritually, they raised me in the faith. I owe them so much for what they have poured in my life. Bishop and First Lady, thank you for your unwavering support of my wife and I. Both of you are the embodiment of integrity in the kingdom of God.

I would like to thank my wonderful CFC family. I love each and every one of you. Thank you for the respect you give my wife and I and thank you for caring enough to call me a part of your family. You all are my family; and I am privileged to be connected to such wonderful people. I am especially grateful to THE SOUTH. I have the privilege of being the Pastor of Christian Fellowship Church South in Perry, Ga. I love the church I am pastoring. We are on the move for the Kingdom of God!

I would also like to thank all of my friends and family in the community. I want to thank all of the church leaders in the community who continue to support me and encourage me in the faith. This book is a result of the constant support I have in the Christian community.

It goes without saying but I want to honor my close circle of family members. I honor my brothers: Dathan Boyd, Yancey Brown, and Anthony Jackson. I love you all so much. I also honor my sisters: Jasmine Brown, Salena Boyd, and Amanda Jackson. I love you all so much.

    I want to say that I love you: #FOREVERSIXTEEN, #SUPERMAN, #EVENSOLORDCOMEQUICKLY

I would like to thank my father: Rayfield Boyd Sr. You taught me to fear the Lord. You taught me how to fall in Love with my Savior. This book has your words all over it. I am the man I am today because of your wisdom. I love you Dad.

Lastly, to my fantastic angel and Mother: Jeannette Richardson Hill. Mom, I did it! I know you are in the presence of the Lord. You always said that you wanted to make heaven; I know you made it. I miss you every day. This book is dedicated to you. I know I will see you again. I love you so much and I know that you are enjoying your new body in heaven.

    Introduction

This is a working Bible study on learning to fall in love with our Savior. We learn how to love at a very young age but our view of how we love comes from the environment around us. In order to properly love the Lord with all your heart, with all your strength, we have to gain a greater appreciation for being delivered and set free. This is the purpose for this Bible study.

Matthew 22:36–38 says, ³⁶Master, which is the great commandment in the law? ³⁷Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. ³⁸This is the first and great commandment."

Your Heart Has to Love the Lord: What Does This Mean?

Matthew 6:21, "For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also."

Your treasure is whatever you care about and whatever you put your time into.

Question: What are you spending most of your time doing? Are you spending most of your time on your cell phone? Do you spend most of your time with your children or your spouse? Where is your treasure?

Your Soul and Mind Has to Love the Lord:

    What Does This Mean?

Our soul is our mind, sense, and emotion. Our soul is what gives us our personality and it’s through our soul that we live out our relationship with God, with other people, and with our self. Our soul likely has three major components—our mind, will, and emotion. Our mind has a conscious part and a subconscious part. The conscious mind is where we do our thinking and reasoning. The subconscious mind is where we hold our deep beliefs and our attitudes. It’s also where we have our feelings, our emotions, and retain our memories. Our will is what gives us the ability to make choices. Through a very complex way, our mind, our will and our emotions are connected to the body through our endocrine, nervous, and immune systems.

Psalm 19:7, The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple.

Romans 12:2, And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Heart, soul, and mind, that’s how we love the Lord.

But we live in this old nasty flesh. We have got to get past this flesh and we have to admit who we are.

We Must First Admit That We Have Struggles (Issues)

Having issues is a sign that you are normal. We should never assume that we are having trouble and trials because we have done something wrong. There are many reasons we have struggles and it’s not always because we are bad people.

We were born like this. Let’s examine and look inside this text.

Psalm 51:1–10 says, ⁵¹ Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy loving kindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions.

Looking inside this verse, we can see that the writer is saying that because of God’s great compassion, God would take pity and erase all the wrongs that have been done. This is important because we get a sense that the writer recognizes his mistakes.

The only way to truly fall in love with the Lord and truly be delivered, we have to acknowledge our total dependence on God. This can be difficult because of the culture we live in. Society dictates a certain level of stress that believers get accustomed to. We become so independent and so driven that it can give a false sense of achievement. Our love for God has to be a dependent love. We have to consistently say, Lord without you … Lord without you! God’s mercies are tender because He is showing gentleness and concern for us. His concern for us should drive us to love him even more.

Let’s examine more of the text: "² Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.³ For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me."

Looking inside this verse, we see ownership of sin. David is taking
