About this ebook

Garland liked being in control. He prided himself because he had a good sense of direction and leadership, but his kingdom was anything but peaceful. In the Metallix Solar System there are three planets that orbit around one sun. To the left, is Hyrim. To the right, is Dymutos. And in the center between Hyrim and Dymutsos is Venom. No planet resident leaves Venom unless the Despot allows it. As a Despot, Garland rules over his people and never intends to let his people go. Ever. He will never allow outlanders let alone the tourists to visit Venom in fear of having his utopia tainted by “the outside”. Venom is a place of despair, hardship and disappoints—if you’re a Hachem. Hachems will always be poor and struggle through life. Noblis do not know what struggle is because Garland made sure that the richer and privileged class did not simply have to.

Life was good, he was doing just fine for himself until he realized he lacked one thing. The touch of a woman and a family of his own. Garland had everything in his life except that. Was it took late to entertain the idea of being with someone and having a child? He would soon discover that a woman is not so easily understood or easy to work with and a family is not merely an item one can purchase, but something one must create with their partner and both of these factors require one word that Garland did not have experience with.

    CHAPTER 1: ALONE

    E500 A.D.O.T.

    Etos | 103

    I

WOKE UP ONE day, sat up in the bed and realized something horrible about myself. I was a virgin. A virgin at 5,000 and have never known the touch of a woman.

Has it really been 5,000 etos since my birth? I asked myself then tipped my head back so I could stare off at nothing. My mother always warned me with the twisted ambitions that I have I would never find a mate. I suppose being the Despot of Venom and endorsing the lifestyles I have set for each race would turn a lady away rather than towards me.

I released a loud sigh as I fell backwards and down onto the mattress. I laid still for a long time, but then I was struck with inspiration and motivation! I was going to do it and by doing it I meant have intercourse with a lovely woman around my age and do something magical.

I was going to impregnate her with my seed on purpose! It would be memorable, amazing experience to know a woman and give her a gift to remember me by. Besides, I was 5,000 etos old with no heir to my name. I needed at least one child to carry on my legacy after I pass—whenever that would be. Us Vampires can live for thousands and thousands of years and physically maintain our youthful zeal, energy and appearance.

Do we ever wrinkle and age? Well… yes. Eventually. A slow eventually, but it will happen and when that change takes place a Vampire’s life expires rather quickly and suddenly. The age rate that many races have is fascinating as much as it is disturbing, but I do not mind, as I enjoy being young and living a long life.

I am going to do this and make my poor mother proud of me. Granted I am going about this all wrong, but at least she will have a grandchild by the time it is over. I muttered to myself as I leapt out of the bed and made my way towards the massive bathroom that could fit over a dozen people. I stepped inside and slipped off my robe and entered the pool bath. Pool baths are so nice and big. Did I mention they have aqua jets and the water naturally adjusts to your body temperature? Out of all the inventions Dracula had thought of and made, the pool bath is one of my top favorites. "LATIO, call
