About this ebook

Have you noticed how we live in a fast-paced and instant world a belief in God seems to be losing its relevance? Do you also meet with people who constantly question the existence, validity and usefulness of belief in a supreme being?

Have you ever wondered if God was real or if He ever spoke? Do you wonder whether He is interested in the affairs of men?

I believe God is real. He is a loving Father with outstretched arms waiting and calling out for us to return to Him. He desires us to come closer for a life-changing and purposeful relationship with Him.

He talks all the time. Maybe we need to slow down, tune in and listen sometimes. I know there are times when it seems He’s gone frightfully quiet; even then, He’s still with us. He gently encourages us to trust in His ever-abiding presence at these times.

I share some of my own life experiences and frustrating conversations to encourage you to see and explore how real God is.

Understand Your Dreams. Hear God’s Voice.

    DEDICATION

To my children: especially Dami – La Vogue, (my fashion consultant), Bobbee (Mr Handsome, the most generous young man I know), Ayo (my precious Your Royal Highness), who are my most prized gifts in life. May you grow in grace and live unashamedly for the faith!

You have taught me so much about perseverance and been so much joy to parent.

My thanks to the children's father for all he taught the children and me – blessings to him and his new family.

To my long-suffering mum, Folake Araba; also, Oyin, Jumoke, Yinka with whom growing up was an adventure, and still is, after daddy’s passing!

To Nadier Lawson for tirelessly listening to my many dreams and helping me to decipher their meaning.

To the better part of me because I know I will always need to remind myself of these same principles from time to time; so, a note to self.

Thanks to Farhana Choudhury and Phinnah Chichi who were such good listeners and encouragers throughout this process.

    ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

First and last and always, thank you to Grace, God-my Daddy, without whom I would have completely lost my mind! I would like to acknowledge the use of scripture in various versions, NKJV, Gods Word, The Message, and Amplified bible as quoted in the text from the bible gateway and other bible websites.

Charity Kayembe and Mark Virkler have been teaching us about dreams and making sense of them. I acknowledge the use of their materials in my text below and thank them for the many ways they have helped me make sense of what God has been saying at night. For more information on the DAESI method, see the blog here: www.GloryWaves.org/DAESI

Of this book Charity says, Thank you so much. You are a blessing! And I’m grateful that you are sharing the message that God speaks through dreams with others. May God’s blessing and anointing be upon you, your new book, and your entire ministry in Jesus’ name!

I have quoted from this book 4 Keys to Hearing God's Voice by Mark Virkler who has kindly donated a whole chapter on the subject.

I have also quoted from Doug Addison in the area on further reading and from this article here: https://www.gotquestions.org/still-small-voice.html

Chapter 1: LORD, DO YOU REALISE I HAVE A DEADLINE?

I almost ignored the instruction to write this book!

As the impressions were delivered in my heart, I argued about how unqualified I was to write it. You may remember the story of Moses in the burning bush. Here was a fugitive, wanderer and murderer who had fled after killing someone. He was a high flyer who used to live in the Pharaoh's palace and now a shepherd working on a farm; so far away from home and he could not speak well.

He argued about his defective speech when God spoke to him through the bush fire. He was being asked to return to speak to Pharaoh, the ruler in Egypt about releasing the Israelite slaves. Remember he had run away from Egypt. Can you imagine how unqualified he would have felt for the job? Then God said he should tell the king, that I am that I am sent him to ask for the release of the slaves. Anyone would have laughed him to scorn knowing his history.

It's no wonder then that Pharaoh refused to grant Moses’ request.

Anyway, the more I argued about writing the book, the more people would ask me about this same question. The confirmatory signs to write this book came in the form of comments I heard around me, those directed at me, posters and pictures that asked a similar question. I even heard a lady on the radio say, if God has asked you to write a book, you get the grace for the time you are asked to do it… That comment finally got my attention!

I quit ignoring the instruction and got some peace with taking on the project. I discovered that the more I wrote, the more I was given material to write as I took to typing the content. When I complained about not knowing what more to say, I was asked to recount my own experiences in the text. Here they are. I hope you get a fresh understanding of how real and present God is.
