Review: "Urbex takes the reader into a tumultuous relationship between Lane and Jazmin, of two unconventional people. Through chance they make a discovery of a lifetime leads to horror as ideas of riches and self preservation lead to one terrible event after the next. This story truly kept my heart pumping as I cautiously turned each page. You will also not be able to stop turning pages too, wondering what horrible fates of Lane and Jazmin may hold and why!"

    CHAPTER ONE

I can’t believe you finished your burger before we got home, Lane said as he gripped the wheel at ten and two, turning onto a bumpy dirt road. It’s not even five o’clock. You’ll be starving again by eight. Dust curled into the air behind the matte black Brat with maroon interior, marked with a skull and crossbones design on the hood.

That’s why I ordered two, Jazmin replied, arching a perfectly-shaped eyebrow upwards. She stuck out her pierced tongue covered in meat and pressed the second preset to change the station. A slippery slice of tomato flopped onto the seat from the bun in her hand.

The fuck you do? Lane spit ferociously. Goddamn it Jazmin, You better not muck up my ride again.

She felt bad but played it off, Hey, it’s the same color, relax. She plucked the slice from between her legs with long black fingernails. Her green liberty spikes lightly brushed the cloth roof of the vehicle as she sat back up. I got a napkin in here, it’ll be good as new, she said and reached into the brown paper bag printed with a clown’s smiling face.

It better be, Lane grunted and steered the Brat up a long stretch of road between rows of trees. He watched Jazmin toss the tomato out the window from the corner of his eye and smirked. A yellow streak of mustard curved along the side of her cheek, unbeknownst to her. It almost made her look like the fast food clown, if the clown was a badass street kid dressed in a studded black leather jacket and sported a mohawk instead of a curly red wig.

Watch where you’re going! Jazmin yelled, clutching the seatbelt strapped tightly across her chest. She dropped the bag and leaned back in her seat, pressing her feet hard against the floor. The Brat skidded to a halt in front of a mossy fieldstone wall.

Lane’s eyes were glazed open. I’m sorry. Jaz, this thing came out of nowhere, I swear. I didn’t even see the turn.

She could tell he wasn’t lying. Where the hell are we, anyway? Why are we on this road?
