    Introduction

It is not necessary to know how to become your best and highest-self. You only need to be willing to know. When true desire is present, direction works itself out. In fact, this is likely the reason you are reading this right now. You presently possess all the power you need to achieve your goals. You only need to realize it and align your thoughts with the more aware and powerful version of yourself. This will take a conscious and deliberate effort, but giving the time and attention needed to really know yourself is a gesture of love towards yourself—and loving yourself is the answer to all of your difficulties. As capable as you already are, there is still a good chance you do not know how powerful your potential actually is.

This book will guide you in expanding your consciousness by assisting you in becoming more aware of who you are, as well as who you are not. When I refer to both pure awareness and consciousness, I am referring to what I consider higher consciousness, or the consciousness of God, Jah, The Divine, The Most High, The Tao, Elohim, Allah, Jehovah, Yahweh, and as referred to throughout this book as the Creator. The purpose here is to assist you in expanding your consciousness by becoming aware of the all-pervasive presence of the Creator. This is somewhat of a do it yourself manual on self-love, self-healing, and finding your purpose. The better you begin to know yourself, the clearer your purpose will become. We are born here to liberate ourselves from suffering, and this liberation can be obtained through growth and self-knowledge. All things will fall into place, once you make awareness a priority. You will learn how to use awareness to become more in touch with your mind, body, and emotions. You will gain an understanding of how and why you are triggered in negative ways, and how to unlearn harmful and toxic habits. You will be guided towards rediscovering your innate power. You will realize you are all powerful," as the Creator intended you to be, and that your only true adversary is yourself. It is important to realize that the conditions of your external circumstances depend solely on your inner relationship with them, because your greatest battles are not fought and won outside of your mind. You will learn that as awareness becomes your primary point of perception, the ability of your mind to influence you will lessen.

As I practice becoming more in tune with the mind and body, and understand them to be tools that I have been given to help me develop mastery of this human form, I understand it is my duty to share information and insight as I gain it. For several years, I have been working diligently on consciously being aware of the presence of the Creator and becoming the greatest version of myself. I have not completely accomplished this yet, but I am making continuous progress. I do understand that this is a lifelong quest and I am excited about my own development. It is my hope that my life can be an example to others, proof that anyone can become enlightened. The way you use your mind currently is only the result of your conditioning of it.

I was directed to start processing life and death as a very young child, in what I know now to be a deep and meaningful way, experiencing the death of my father helped spark a great deal of anger and confusion within me. For many years, I struggled with depression, suicidal thoughts, and the abuse of drugs, alcohol, and sex. For the majority of my life, I was controlled and dominated by my body and ego, acting recklessly and mostly like an animal. All of these behaviors were attempts by my separate self to avoid feeling separate. We all intimately know happiness and joy exist beyond physically experiencing it. We miss it, and this is why we so desperately seek it. Often this quest is done with extreme ignorance and foolishness. Yet, everything we do as separate selves is an attempt to unveil reality and shed our limitations and inability to truly be happy. Despite my behavior and state of mind, had I been linked to a polygraph I believe I would have passed if asked whether I love myself. Yes, I would have easily said, because I believed I did. Truth is, I did not love myself, especially not in the way that I have now come to know and understand love today.

Standing in the truth means that when you know better, you do better and you become better. Being exposed to information, including being able to recite it, does not mean you know something. Knowing is displayed in action, and as knowledgeable as I thought I was, my actions were foolish, ignorant, and unloving, especially towards myself. Years of living this way caused me to search for ways to fix, change, and improve my experience. Along with making countless mistakes, I read books, conversed with many, listened to lectures, and experimented with diet, exercise, and the different practices that I came across in the hope of finding answers and creating positive change. I had a deep gnawing feeling of lack. In spite of having loving family members and friends, I felt lonely, like I was missing love. I felt there was a part of me that knew love in a much deeper and more fulfilling way, and this created in me a sense of unfulfillment. I knew I needed and deserved love in this unknown yet so familiar way.

I began to understand that the love I needed and longed for was the love of the Creator—but I had to learn that I could only receive it by giving it to myself. Know you are also made of this love. You are this love. It is your responsibility to remember this and act accordingly. This is not something that is only privileged to me or a select few. The love of the Creator is available to you and everyone who chooses to seek it. You are a source of light that ignites or brightens light in others. Your consciousness is a piece of it all. Without you there is no whole and life is incomplete. You are this important. Your responsibility is to embody and demonstrate love and awareness. As you learn to master this form of existence, your responsibility will be to share the information with all who are ready to receive it and release their souls from their imaginary binding to separation, judgment, fear, and doubt.

Ultimately, you are not a person, but a focal point where the Universe is becoming conscious of itself.

    —Eckhart Tolle

Imagine yourself training each cell in your body to be conscious of itself. Imagine having an intimate awareness of your entire being down to each and every cell—each cell having total awareness of itself and you having complete control over it all. Can you envision the level of mastery you would be giving yourself? This is what is happening in our physical realm of existence. You are a point of consciousness becoming aware of itself, one of trillions of cells that form I am, the creator of all, or All itself, guiding every particle of itself into realizing itself. Within this, there is a huge spectrum of awareness and multiple levels of consciousness, and no division. Some cells do not know or believe they are in or part of anything. While others embrace themselves as being part of a collective whole self, and some realize they alone are this self and there is nothing more.

All is divine and therefore everything is working towards the elevation of awareness. There are no mistakes; the things you think of as mistakes are not. Even the things you consider to be completely foolish, terrible, wicked and cruel are divine lessons that are developing your awareness and guiding you towards self-realization. I believe self-realization is the ultimate goal of life. It is the fulfillment of our personal potential through the knowledge and embodiment of our true nature, the higher-self, pure awareness. You are perfect, and your concepts of imperfection and flaws are perfect. They have you on course to remembrance. Every aspect of you is teaching your point of consciousness about itself, perfectly. There are no flaws in perfection, so every aspect of your experience is perfectly divine. Imperfection is a concept created in the mind, and you are not your mind. No matter where your particular point of consciousness is focused in terms of realization or how many bad and terrible mistakes you have made, or thought about making, they are divine. Your mistakes serve the purpose of teaching, guiding, reminding, and leading your particular point of consciousness back to knowing itself. Your mental and physical experience on this planet serves the purpose of training you to remember your role in divinity.

Divine thoughts remind you of the divine; they remind you of who you are. This book is to serve as a guide, an additional clue like a bread crumb in a trail of breadcrumbs being left so you can rediscover yourself. The concepts by which you define yourself determine everything you know from your point of consciousness, your experience and every aspect of it. Yet still, no matter who, how, or what you conceive yourself to be, your essence and true self beneath these conceptions remain unchanged. The Creator is at the center of everything, and you are that. Being a piece of The All is the same as being The All. You are everything and everything is you. We need to empower ourselves with the knowledge that we are the creators and cause of the conditions we experience. All of your discomfort is the result of your own doing; likewise, all your comfort is of your own doing. Become aware that nothing outside of you can affect your experience. You are the writer, director, and lead actor in your own movie, and what you are not changing, you are choosing. It is all up to you.

To reach a higher level of being you must begin to let go of all concepts of yourself that cannot assist you in realizing your true potential. Train your mind to conceptualize you being your best self, and begin to know yourself in this way. Progress towards truth is made by those who are able to see beyond what is in front of them, or they see what is in front of them as being more than what it appears to be. Progress is made by those who do not simply and without question accept the consensus as being normal. They choose to see things as they would like them to be, rather than accepting things as they are.

If you do not consciously create yourself and your experience, you will never attain your goals. If you do not create the experiences you want, you will never have the things you want. It is my desire to help you realize what already is. Realization is discovering that you are already free. You are who and whatever you realize yourself to be, and you possess whatever you realize is yours. Your higher-self is waiting for you to pull it into the present. You must realize there is no longer a need to accept the dominance of external circumstances and that your internal concepts control
