    Foreword

Aarika Rao, my 11-year-old granddaughter has penned down Shark Bite , her debut novella. A very well-read adolescent, Aarika avidly devours anything worthy to be read. Therefore, it comes as no surprise to me that she has made her maiden attempt at writing a book of fiction for the gratification of her own creative instincts and to entertain her young readers. As I fondly watch her growing up and as I relish the years of our togetherness through the games of make-believe, I have found Aarika to be an immensely curious child with a thirst for knowing all that her young mind touches upon. Having read most of the popular fictional works meant for her peer group, this debut book is a natural outcome of her young mind.

In this book Shark Bite, the young author displays a maturity beyond her years. In telling the tale of adventure, there is a generous and balanced sprinkle of emotions of horror, deprivation, humour, bonding, hope, and love. The story retains its pace, novelty, and thrill till the end, which makes it a compulsive read. Lauding the sterling enigma of the book, I highly recommend
