About this ebook

I've been seeking the 'truth' for many decades now and as part of that have been researching various factors of our lives on this planet, including religions, spirituality, Humanism and philosophy. As part of this search I've studied these doctrines and beliefs, coming to the conclusion that we are missing the point of our existence on this planet. In this book I hope to show readers the true path to enlightenment.

In the book we'll break down life into it's simplest form, i.e. why are we here and how do we find our 'True Purpose'. Yes I realise this is a big claim, but on the other hand it's not. I mean life itself and our reason for being here seems to me to be very simple, we just complicate it.

Having studied lots of different doctrines, religions, philosophies, Wayne concluded that they all have the same message but tell that message in different ways based upon the time of writing, delivery methods available and audience for the message. As such the message has been adapted by those who wish to use the message for their own ends.

So in this book I've tried to keep things simple and focus on our True Purpose and how we find that. The book includes a training program and 30 day exercise course to help people build the mental habits required to achieve their desires.

    INTRODUCTION

In the beginning there was Adam and Eve, or at least that’s one version of events.  As we know there are a plethora of other versions of what people think of as life’s beginnings including ancient Alien theories (i.e. Humans are the descendants of Alien visitors to our planet), Humanist theories e.g. that we are simply part of Cosmic Chaos and as such our existence is pure accident, to evolution i.e. we have evolved from nothing to become who we are today.

Then there are the theories of how we (the Human Species) should live our life during our short time on this planet we call Earth including Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, Paganism, etc… These are essentially rules, created by Humans, to help us live in harmony whilst living our lives.  A Taoist quote helps elaborate this aspect stating "rules were written for people who have forgotten how to live". The assertion being we don’t’ really need religions to help us know how to live, but as our lives have become more complicated and interlinked Society has a need to have religion as a way to understand our physical world and the Natural Laws which govern it.  Religions effectively providing a structure for our mortal existence on this planet.

As we can see, there are many different theories on life and how we are supposed to live it and they are exactly that i.e. simply theories.  They are not Universal Laws (Universal Laws being those which are unaffected by Human influence e.g. Gravity, lightspeed, etc..) merely rules that we may choose (or not as the case may be) to follow, no matter what you believe to be true from such sources the fact remains that they are a choice.

So what is this book about? In this book I intend to avoid putting forward my theories on what life is about and try to adopt a logic based approach to our existence, beginning with explaining the purpose of life, and moving quickly onto how we find that purpose.

We will then move on to consider the bigger picture in respect of our existence and how our short life on this planet is an integral part of the whole universal process.  The book is intentionally brief and I offer no apologies for that.  Having considered this issue for most of my life I’ve found that when people are confronted with this question (i.e. why are we here) they find many complex reasons to justify their personal beliefs and opinions.  So, as we are looking at the ‘bigger picture’ in this book, I hope that my shorter version will help explain things more simply without the complications which are often introduced into such debates.

KEY POINT: Life is simple, we merely choose to complicate it.

So, when you consider the Universe and our place within it, the starting point is existence.  In this context I am referring to what already happens, e.g. why do planets revolve around a star, what makes a planet form and why do some planets have X types of life whilst others have Y types of life or seemingly none whatsoever?  Our Universe works without our direct input, we are merely a part of the whole and not separate from it, detached from that whole during our physical life rather than different to it.  When we can accept this, we can realise that our lives are simply a small part of a much larger machine, a machine that was designed to self-replicate and evolve with our without our interaction with it.

Our physical life on this planet is merely a blip on the Universal timepiece, less than a second of time yet we believe it represents the whole existence.  Yes our true being (energy source, soul, etc… if you prefer) is everlasting and travels through time/space until it has evolved sufficiently to return to the source, isn’t that what all religions are effectively saying too i.e. do X and you’ll go to Heaven and do Y and you’ll go to Hell.

In closing this section I’d like to reiterate the mantra that I believe sums it all up, which is this:

We are One Species, occupying One Planet and all have One Purpose.  That purpose is exactly the same for all of us, albeit we find that purpose via different endeavours/actions.  That purpose should feel positive to the individual, whilst not causing detriment to the others we meet along our journey and/or the planet which provides us with the platform to find that purpose.  Simple really, isn’t it?

    CHAPTER ONE

    WHY ARE WE HERE?

The starting point to find an answer to this question should be why.  If we consider the why, rather than the how, we begin to realise that everything happens for a reason.  It may be that we don’t, as yet, comprehend that reason but it is surely the case that everything does indeed happen for a reason or otherwise the whole system would fail.  We and everything in our Universe are connected.

This connection is made via the Quantum Field (Dark Energy, Creation, if you prefer) and our physical body via our brain (Mind being a function of the brain).  Consider this, when you are born you have little information other than that which was brought with you via your DNA/cells.  You quickly begin to learn about the world around you, learning which is assisted by your senses gathering the information you need to evolve.

In addition to the information you bring with you as a baby though (i.e. via your DNA), you are also starting to compile your own thoughts based upon that information. The originating thought is therefore the beginning of everything, with the information collected by us along our physical journey being the result of that originating thought.  So we see something, determine an action and then implement that action.  The action then changes the physical world, creating ripples of action through to infinity.

All this occurs based upon our interpretation of the originating thought.  E.G. we see an Aubergine, which is merely a number of atoms/molecules, etc… formed into what we call an Aubergine (in Australia apparently it’s known as an Egg Plant).  We call it an Aubergine because that’s how it's been described to us (conditioning), whilst in Australia they call it an Egg Plant (conditioning also).  This helps demonstrate that we create our physical world and use names for instance to allow us to categorise that which in essence is merely atoms.  This is how we choose to make sense of our physical world.

So whilst everything in the Universe is governed by Universal Laws and Principles, what happens during our physical life is determined by how we think and then how we implement those thoughts to create actions in the physical world.

It seems reasonable therefore to assume that if everything happens for a reason (as mentioned earlier), then we and our existence are surely a part of that reason or otherwise what would be the point? Does there need to be a point some might say, but the fact that a person may choose to thing there isn’t confirms that we each have a choice.

Of course, there will be those out there who say we don’t have to have a reason, we are simply a part of a chaotic Universe and as such are accidents created by cosmic collisions of matter.  Well, if that’s your firm belief and you’re not willing to consider alternatives to your theory, then I’d suggest you stop reading now, return the book to where you purchased it and hopefully they’ll give you a refund.  If not and you’re open to learning the truth (if there actually is ever a truth), then read on.

    WHAT’S OUR PURPOSE?

So in this section we’re going to consider our ‘true’ purpose, i.e. the reason we are here on this planet.  Our purpose is simply to find our personal ‘inner peace’.  Everyone finds that inner peace in a different way (albeit the path to find it may be similar, such as via a religious doctrine) but in essence that’s our purpose.  Let’s consider this a little further.

KEY POINT:  Inner Peace in this context is that ‘happy’ place where a person simply knows they are living the life they believe they are meant to live.  This will be different for each of us, indeed how could it ever the same?

When you look around the physical world you’ll notice that there are circa 7 Billion of us, each with our own opinions and beliefs.  Opinions and beliefs which have been formed over the course of the individual’s life to that point, formed as a result of the conditioning of our parents (by the way conditioning isn’t always intentional, it can be the result of those providing the conditioning not being aware that it is their own conditioning that is being transferred to those they are conditioning), teachers, the media, those we meet, our location, time we are alive, etc. etc.  The point is this, just because a person holds a particular opinion or belief doesn’t mean they are correct in their opinion, it merely means that opinion is the one they choose to accept as the reality of their life.  Let’s consider some examples:

Teachers teach children the subjects that the particular teacher wants them to learn or what they are told by others to teach (this is conditioning).  That conditioning may be partially derived from religious teachings, what the particular state/country requires to be taught and/or what society generally deems to be appropriate.  By default this teaching is different depending upon the time/location/teacher the lesson is held.

Parents.  Parents teach (condition) their children based upon what they were taught, possibly similar to what their parents were taught.  As such this conditioning is passed down through generations and often becomes, to that individual/group, what they would describe as irrefutable law when in fact it is merely conditioning passed down from a person with authority and likely nothing more than a belief/opinion as to how to act/behave.  Isn’t this what religions are too, i.e. a doctrine created thousands of years ago which now some people believe is so true, that they will kill to protect that opinion.

As we know, i.e. because lots of individuals act in a manner which is not only detrimental to themselves, our planet and those they interact with, people will choose to behave in a negative way to protect something which was created to help them act in a positive way.  People of one religion/belief have been killing others of different beliefs throughout human history.  Such people were taught, just like the rest of us to act in a positive way, so why do they not follow their conditioning?  Is there an external force/energy influencing their thoughts/actions?  If not then why don’t people all act alike?

The media has a growing influence on the conditioning of people in the modern world, including television, movies, social media, games, etc….  This conditioning is less obvious as it’s hidden within ‘entertainment’ often or disguised as news, however it’s conditioning in any event and once again will be different depending upon the time/location/perspective of the person being affected by it.

However in this book we are not concerning ourselves with what individuals believe or don’t believe as that is not the point of the book.  We are considering existence more generally, i.e. our innate purpose and not that which individuals believe it to be.  A purpose which is the same for all of us, i.e. to find our ‘inner peace’.

In that case, what is our ‘Universal’ purpose i.e. that thing we all seek?

Simply put we all seek happiness or more accurately (as happiness can be fleeting) we seek contentment/inner peace/fulfilment (enlightenment if you prefer).  Essentially we are all living our lives to find that place where we ‘feel’ we should be, that place where regardless of what happens we know we’re on the right path for us.

There’s some that believe we have ‘free will’, i.e. an ability to do something which is unique to us and chosen by us without reference to another entity or being.  It’s an interesting point, but as everything is contained within a Quantum Field and all things are created via a link (thought energy if you prefer) to the information held within that field, then whilst the individual may choose to think they are different to each other the fact remains that by merely thinking (creating the thought) a person is forming a connection to data that must surely already exist within the Quantum Field and as such are not actually choosing something which is not already available to them to choose.  So yes individuals may have the ability to choose how they act following a thought, but there’s very few of us who are able to only generate the thoughts we wish to generate.  Most of us are reacting to situations and generating thoughts based upon those situations, rather than creating the thought first then ensuring the situation reflects the intention of that thought.  That said the ability to choose is how we are able to form a connection to the Quantum Field and is constricted to choosing what is available from within the Field.  That said, anything which can be imagined must surely be present within the Quantum Field or how else could someone imagine it?

Now let’s be clear whilst we all seek the same thing, we find it in approximately 7 Billion different ways.  Individuals will have an opinion on what is the correct path to follow, indeed isn’t that pretty much what all religions provide a path to follow?

How, you may ask, can I be so arrogant as to claim to know the true path for 7+ Billion people.  As I said previously it’s simple because we all seek the same thing (as outlined above) yet have a different opinion as to how we’ll find it.  That thing is contentment/peace/happiness and the feeling achieved is different for all of us once we find that.  There are an infinite number of combinations of potential thoughts we can generate, held within the Quantum Field, we simply choose to link to those which suit our personal preference or a given situation.

For instance some people believe that helping others is the key, whilst others believe the opposite is true.  Some people believe that a particular form of worship (religion if you prefer) is the way, whilst others believe a different religion or having none at all is the way.  I think this essentially proves that there is no defined way, merely options available for us to choose from and options which are already held in existence ready to create a human thought and held within the Quantum Field. Let’s consider an example

    Example No. One

When born each of us has a ‘clean slate’, i.e. we don’t know which religion we are supposed to follow and indeed have no concept that a religion even exists or an opinion on why we are here.  We live our life (grow older) and learn about that life as we go along.  This learning is influenced by the location we live, the time we are living through and those who have a degree of control or influence over us including the media, Govt. Parents, friends, enemies, etc….  In fact everything that happens contributes toward our own point of view.

So, the majority of those living at present (the 7 Billion I have referred to) choose (I use the word choose purposefully as everything is a choice) to follow a particular religious doctrine or not as the case may be.  However, and no matter how fervently they believe that particular doctrine, they can and indeed do choose to switch to a different one at any point along their journey.  This confirms therefore that whilst a person may, at a point in time, believe that a particular doctrine is the only one that is correct, they may also choose later to adopt a different one.

I believe this is clear evidence that nothing we believe to be the path is actually the path, it is merely a path we have chosen to follow.  The fact that there are a plethora of paths to choose from is evidence that each path is merely a choice.

Now, from the above statements, it follows therefore that we are the Creators. It is ourselves who create our own destiny by thinking in a particular way and putting those thoughts into action.  We may choose that path consciously or unconsciously, but in any event the path you as an individual chooses to follow can by definition only be actually relevant to you.

Yes, you may choose a path (say religious doctrine) that Millions of others also choose to follow, but how you interact with that path is personal to you.  You will do things differently to everyone else on the same path, to a greater or lesser degree, based upon your location, the time period and personal perspective.  The path you choose will be determined by your conditioning to that point and can be expressed as a formulae i.e.:

    Time + Location + Conditioning =  Thoughts

    Thoughts + Actions = Outcome

However the fact remains that you (like the rest of us) seek to find your own personal inner peace.  As such that surely provides sufficient evidence to support the fact that our purpose on this planet is to find our ‘happy place’ i.e. the place where you feel you are where you’re supposed to be.

Yin And Yang with solid fill

Most of us don’t find that place during this lifetime (hence why Buddhist philosophy, along with others, believe in reincarnation which is essentially another chance to find what we didn’t find previously.  This is because by being ‘reborn’ we have an opportunity to build on our past life’s conditioning, to help us progress towards enlightenment (or the feeling of inner peace if you prefer).

Now of course I’m not saying I know that the Buddha, Jesus, Muhammad, etc… were saying this.  It’s simply my interpretation of what I believe they were telling us, however as I say above each of us with an opinion on this will likely have a different interpretation and that’s perfectly acceptable as without difference there can be nothing which is considered the same, we use our differences to define our existence by contrasting those with our own conditioning.  This is what is meant by the symbol below, black (positive and negative) intertwined to provide contrast and as such to define each state.

    HOW TO FIND THAT PURPOSE

So, as mentioned previously, there are a plethora of ways for each of us to find our inner peace (life’s purpose if you prefer).  However all of us only have one way to find that inner peace, one tool to do so and that tool is our mind (more on that later).

Our body only has one primary function, i.e. the function that it was created for. Our primary function is to gather information, everything else we do is secondary to that.  You may disagree with this interpretation of life and that’s fine of course, as I’ve said you can choose to believe whatever you wish.  But that doesn’t change the truth, i.e. we have a primary function whilst on this planet and that primary function is to gather information/data if you like.

KEY POINT: We are constantly gathering information and are unable to stop doing so, even when in a coma and seemingly asleep.

I believe that the evidence to support this point of view is obvious.  For instance, we can stop breathing (if only for a short period), we can stop seeing (by closing our eyes), we can plug our ears to prevent sound, etc…..  However whatever happens we will continue to gather information.  We gather information even when we are asleep, albeit mostly sub-consciously.  People in a coma have been found to continue to gather information, even when they are seemingly lifeless.  It seems that so long as there is thought energy present in our brain, then we are deemed to be alive and continue to gather information.  I believe this is proof, our primary function is to gather information.

We gather this information to help us find our inner peace (inner peace being different for all of us and defined by our own thoughts/feelings about our existence).  Now I know, because I’ve had this conversation with many people over the years, that some will find this difficult to accept.  There will be those reading this I suspect who say our primary function is to have children, love, etc….  I’d suggest that these are ancillary functions, proven by the fact that people can choose to love or not, have children or not, etc… however those choices are based upon information received by that individual and/or their conditioning to that point, as such these form part of the choices we make whilst on this planet and not the primary function of our physical bodies which were designed to gather information/data to allow us to make that choice.

No matter what, whether you’re in a coma or asleep, etc… your body will continue to gather information via your senses until the moment your life’s energy leaves your physical body.  You cannot stop gathering information/data, as such that is surely evidence that our Primary Function is to gather information.

Let’s illustrate this further by use of an example again.

    EXAMPLE NO. TWO

A drone can fly, it can possibly do various tricks, its rotors spin and the machine works as intended to help that drone fulfil its Primary Function.  Now, mostly (avoiding military drones which may have weapons onboard), that drone’s purpose is to use the onboard camera to gather information.  That’s the drone’s Primary Function, everything else the drone does is designed to help the machine fulfil that function and is merely ancillary to the Primary Function i.e. to gather information using the camera.

Our physical bodies are, if you think about it, no different.  We breath so we can live, we live so we can gather information and we surely only gather information to achieve our Purpose which as mentioned above is to find our Inner Peace and when our physical body dies to return the information we’ve gathered back to the Cosmic Ocean (Quantum Field) at the end of our physical life.

Yes, I accept some may say they believe our Primary Function is to maintain the species for future generations, e.g. have children.  Sorry but that’s surely disproven by the fact that there are millions of people who may choose not to have children or who are unable to have them.  Yet even those people will still gather information/data along their physical life, as such the gathering of information/data is Primary to our existence and something we cannot avoid doing.

Some people may say we are here to love, yes I’d agree that’s a function of life but not our Primary Function.  I say this, again, because whether to love, hate or not as the case may be are merely choices we can choose to make or not.  Lots of people choose not to love, as such it cannot be our Primary Function.

There’s a plethora of examples I could use to illustrate this point, suffice to say though that there’s a difference between what we are able to choose and what is a function of our existence.  Gathering information, to enable us to make a choice, is surely an undisputable Primary Function and as such this must surely be a designed function of our existence and as previously mentioned if something has a universally created design then it has a purpose in the whole.

So in closing this section, the points to note at this.

KEY POINT: We have one Purpose i.e. to find our Inner Peace and our physical existence is designed to help us do that i.e. via our bodies Primary Function which is determined firstly by the thoughts we think and then the actions we create following those thoughts.

So if that’s our body’s Primary Function and we have only one Purpose i.e. to find inner peace, what’s the point of our living our lives?  Before we consider that aspect, let’s also touch on Inner Peace and what that is.

    INNER PEACE

As I’ve mentioned above, we have a Primary Purpose and it’s the same for all of us which is to find our Inner Peace and that will be different for everyone.  However the way to find that peace is the same, we must control our thoughts and actions, controlling them to align with ourselves i.e. what we believe to be our Inner Peace.

Let’s begin this section by making the following observation.  If you are seeking something, then by default you believe that something is held outside of who you already are.  As such you much firstly accept that YOU ARE THE CREATOR, you already have everything you need to find your true purpose, by looking for that outside of yourself you’ll never find it.

You will never be happy (find your Inner Peace) if you continue to search for what this consists of. You will never live if you are looking for the meaning of life as that meaning is already present within you, as such how can you find outside of you that which already exists within?

The Buddha didn’t find enlightenment when he was living the life of a beggar or searching for it throughout the Kingdom, he found it when sitting beneath a tree contemplating his own existence, i.e. looking within to find that which cannot be found outside of you.

So to find your Inner Peace you must firstly accept that you already have it (albeit it may be hidden by the layers of conditioning you’ve been accepting as reality all your physical life to this point), you must look within and not without.

You must seek to connect your thoughts to the Cosmic Ocean of consciousness (Dark Energy, The Quantum Field, Creation if you prefer) and by developing that connection you will surely find that place within yourself where your Inner Peace resides.  Nothing in the physical world can provide it, not gold, silver, jewels, money, etc…

To try to find your Inner Peace by reference to physical things (which decay over time or become redundant by use/time, etc..) will surely result in your thinking you merely need more of those physical things (money is a good example, the more you get the more you seek) and at some point, you will likely find that which you sought is now a burden.  Let’s use a quick metaphor to explain further.

You love to eat a particular type of food and believe eating this food provides you with the feelings of Inner Peace you seek.  Over time, having eaten nothing more than that food, you will likely come to despise it.

Another example, you think that having money is the key to finding your Inner Peace.  You build a huge fortune (there’s a plethora of examples of people who have done so) only to find you seek more money or find that it's not having the money which provides you peace but the use you put that money to e.g. helping others for example.  So helping others provided the peace, not the money.

So Inner Peace is found within and you will only find that when you first accept its hiding place, i.e. within you.  Once you have accepted this fact, you need to train your body and mind to think the correct thoughts, to enable you to produce the correct action to create the feelings you need.  Yes, this is a constant battle, one which must be raged (at least for most of us weaker minded people) every minute of every day. This is in essence the teaching of Zen Buddhism, i.e. every moment is an opportunity to create a new life/existence.  By training your thoughts and focusing on this moment (the past being only a memory and future a prediction) will you be at the starting gate of finding your Inner Peace.

The reason that simply sitting for 30 minutes a day and chanting particular words or phrases isn’t necessarily the way to find your Inner Peace, is simply because every moment is effectively a new beginning.  So sitting for 30 minutes meditating can be helpful, but what happens once you finish that and go about your day, do you return to the thoughts/actions you previously had?

The next thought you have, the next action you take can change the whole direction of your existence, so controlling those thoughts and actions must surely be the way to find your Inner Peace and the more you do so the more habitual such behaviour will become.

Once formed as a habit your sub-conscious takes over and redesigns your being (through the neural pathways in your brain) so you become that which you have sought.  It becomes ‘2nd nature’ i.e. that which you are.  So, as they say, practice makes perfect and hence why monks, etc… may spend many years working toward the place where they believe they have found their Inner Peace and as such their Life’s purpose.  Will this be the state forever, evidence says not as it can be changed at any point by simply choosing another path.  Yes, the longer and more habitual your practice becomes the harder it will be to sub-consciously change that path, but even then change can happen if that’s what you choose with your conscious mind.

So what’s the point of finding your Purpose?  Each of us is part of the whole, as such by finding your Purpose and projecting those thoughts/actions/feelings (information/data if you prefer) into the Universe (I call it the Cosmic Ocean), you are contributing to the evolution of that whole.  These passages from the Christian Bible may help explain, but also see the next section.

Genesis 1:26, Then God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness.

Genesis 1:27, So God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.

Genesis 5:1, When God created man, He made him in the likeness of God.

So, from the above, it seems clear that God (the Creator, Creation if you prefer) created man (Humans) in his image.  As such we are the same, so extrapolating this out, we are one with God so what we do helps inform Creation and the purpose of that is to help Creation be what it is intended to be, i.e. the knower of all knowledge.  The actions of Humans change Creation and as such help inform it.  God is simply us, we are a part of God (Creation), created in the image of God and designed (created if you prefer) to help Creation know itself and to know all things.  Without us, how could Creation exist and have the knowledge it requires to create everything which can be created?

KEY POINT: We are a part of the whole, created from it and we return to that whole.  Upon our return we release the data/knowledge we’ve gathered during our time on this physical plain and by our doing so the whole (Creation) becomes better informed about itself.  Simple really.

So what do I mean by Cosmic Ocean?

    THE COSMIC OCEAN

Okay so I accept the above you may say, but what does that mean for me living my life on this planet?  I mean, what’s the point of having a Primary Function and Purpose to find?  Let’s consider that aspect a little further.

You may have heard that Scientists across the Globe are now investigating the Quantum Field (Dark Energy/Matter if you prefer), going forward I’m going to refer to this in simpler terms and call it the Cosmic Ocean and I’ll explain why below.  But first let’s accept we are a small part of that Ocean, and we know this because we move around within it, its data (in the form of neutrinos, x-rays, etc… are constantly passing through us) so like it or not we are simply a part of that Ocean.

Yes, we are somewhat detached from the Cosmic Ocean whilst our own energy (soul if you prefer) is encased within our physical body, but none the less we are still a part of it and connected to it.  Let’s examine this theory by reference to an explanation.

My Father had cancer and was in hospital dying for a few weeks, being heavily sedated and seemingly unable to hear, see or communicate with us.  However during this period he did communicate, he would squeeze my hand, respond somehow when he heard something of interest, etc… suffice to say within that seemingly lifeless body was an energy source (Soul if you prefer) which was still gathering information.

When he finally passed his physical body remained but the energy that powered that body was gone.  Now we know energy isn’t destroyed but merely becomes something else, so light can become heat and vice-versa and Radiation can become heat say, etc…  The point being, the energy (Soul if
