I Am That I Am - Tommy Ajayi

    Introduction

When God instructed Moses to go bring the children of Israel out of their bondage in Egypt to lead them into the promised land, Moses was timid and questioned God because he didn’t believe he had the leadership qualities to rescue them from the cruel hands of the king of Egypt, Pharaoh. However, God immediately encouraged Moses that He was going to guide him on how to think, speak, and conduct himself to the elders and children of Israel.

Then Moses asked how he was to introduce God to the Israelites. Basically, Moses was asking God that under whose authority is he fulfilling these duties; who should I say hath sent me? I could imagine Moses asking. God instructed Moses to tell the Israelites that His name is: I AM THAT I AM. And he must tell the children of Israelites that I AM sent him unto them.

Therefore, the word I AM is the name of God; it is the presence of God dwelling inside you. It doesn’t matter the language you speak, the nationality you belong to or the creed you identify with, when you say I AM, you are declaring the presence of I AM THAT I AM in you. The initial I AM is a declaration of a desire; THAT is the desire you wish to manifest; the last I AM is the song of victory you sing over the manifested desire. As God revealed in Isaiah 44:6 (NLT), I am the First and I am the Last. God is the desire, and also the fulfilled desire.

In the sacred scripture of Exodus 20:7 (GNT), it instructed us to use the name of God properly: Do not use my name for evil purposes, for I, the LORD your God, will punish anyone who misuses my name. Evil signifies that which isn’t noble, inspiring, or dignifying. When we say: I Am poor, I AM weak, I AM sick, I AM incapable - we are using the name of God in vain because all these declarations are of evil.

    So the word I AM
