About this ebook

There are 8 stories in FOOLISH SHORTS. All of the stories are originally written by Jahmaal Ahmaad. "Just a thought" is a story about a girl who's curiosity can lead to some pretty ridiculous outcomes. She questions things and then acts on them foe her own personal entertainment. "But it's mine" is meant to build a little suspense as you read. "Chicken Fred" is a story that I made up on the spot when my children asked for a bedtime story. It's pretty silly but it's entertaining, especially for children. Fred's got some learning to do. "Hide and seek" is a story that puts 2 characters with a small conflict in a small space. Will they resolve the conflict before they're found? "What about me" is a story derived from a picture I saw. In the picture you could see 2 people sitting on the patio of a hotel room seemingly having a conversation. There's an outside character observing this scene taking place and generates his own idea of what's going on. is he on to something? "Life after" is the story of Kevin Williams who is unsatisfied with his life. He comes across a magic monkey's paw and accidentally makes a wish to know what it's like when you die. He is shortly visited by an angel of death and given 48 hours of temporary immortality to experience death however he sees fit. He clearly wasn't the only one to make that wish. What will he learn from this experience? "Mariyah wants a pizza" is a short story about a girl who just wants to get a pizza but is faced with some obstacles along the way that could hinder her from achieving her goal. "Tranquility" is story that brings you into the scene I was observing in that moment. All but "Tranquility" are petty comedies. Silly stories for the young at heart.

I wish I could know what it was like after you die, Chelsea said to herself as she hung carelessly by her legs from the hook of an abandoned crane. It’s got to be better than this crappy life. Chelsea was a 15-year-old tomboy that wasn’t very appreciative of life. The way she put it, she’d rather live than just be alive. She hungg out in an old construction yard that had been left behind by workers on strike. Chelsea was a free thinker. She questioned things most people wouldn’t question like, whose idea was it to put lips together and suck than call it a kiss? Or who was the first person to cook meat and how did it take place? All day her mind raced with random thoughts.

I wonder if anyone would even care, she said aloud after having the most ridiculous thought. Letting her legs free of the crane, she fell seven feet landing in a pile of wood that her body was clearly used to landing in. Chelsea wore cargo shorts with combat boots and an extra-large hoodie. She was only four foot eight with curly hair that went past her butt. As she walked home, she kept thinking to
