About this ebook
Locked Away is a collection of songs and poetry that I have written over the past several years of my life and have been bundled together to share with the world. The book contains many different themes and aspects of my life, some of which may not be suitable for younger audiences. Follow along through my younger phase in Shadow Avenue and as I progress further into adulthood in Diary of a Sad Soul.

Locked Away - Gage Randall
Part 1:
Shadow Avenue
Dæmons
Rising from the depths of hell
Taking over as I fell
Sealing away the remains
Of shattered light when long ago slain
Awakened since birth
Eagerly awaiting since I walked the earth
To drown themselves in blood
Plague the world with a dark flood
Trying to coexist
Is like living with a masochist
Is like reasoning with a demented murderer
Is like burning alive because of her
Living with my demons and they’re taking over
My blood tainted by love that was murdered
A soul left to rot on its own
In the recesses of a body it no longer controls
The demons moving hard and fast
With a dark spell left to cast
Disposing of useless secrets
Sending them into a fiery abyss
Smashing hearts with bloody fists
Shrieking into the night
The start of tragic fights
A fate like no other
A flame that can’t be smothered
Searing pain from salted wounds
A rising of the dark age under the new moon
The glowing embers of hope slowly fade
Living in a world that should not have been made
Silently awaiting the Angel’s kiss
Which I’m sure by now I’ve missed
Living with my demons and they’re taking over
My blood tainted by love that was murdered
A soul left to rot on its own
In the recesses of a body it no longer controls
The demons moving hard and fast
With a dark spell left to cast
There’s no chance of survival
With little hope of revival
The demons are taking over
The trouble continues to stir
The end will be here soon
There coming for you too
Worldwide Empire
Living in a world run by tyranny
Brought down to our knees begging for mercy
No matter how hard we try
They just clip our wings so we can’t fly
Living in a world surrounded by hate
Waiting too long for things to start to change
In what world do we restrict the freedom to be who you want to be?
You and me, we’re gonna make this world run peacefully
Come on, come with me
Rise up and show them what we see
We’re gonna take down the worldwide empire
To which we’re gonna set fire
Maybe this time they’ll get it right
Maybe this time they’ll stop the fights
After we take down the worldwide empire
The world is starving for change
Tired of running from a fate that’s been sealed
The World’s Powers letting terror run wild
Beheadings and kidnappings become a part of a normal day’s recital
The powers control who they think we wanna be
Taking away all of our beautiful dreams
We work so hard and try to make it so far
Yet only so few actually make it through
You and me, we’re gonna give this world a new start
Come on, come with me
Rise up and show them what we see
We’re gonna take down the worldwide empire
To which we’re gonna set fire
Maybe this time they’ll get it right
Maybe this time they’ll stop the fights
After we take down the worldwide empire
Each and everyday, we pray for the new world with no pain
They say no pain, no gain
Look at where that’s gotten us today
Just look at the shit it’s gotten us into
But you and me, we’ll never give in to
Come on, come with me
Rise up and show them what we see
We’re gonna take down the worldwide empire
To which we’re gonna set fire
Maybe this time they’ll get it right
Maybe this time they’ll stop the fights
After we take down the worldwide empire
Come on, come with me
Let’s make this world beautiful for us too see
Take down all these walls
And break all the laws
Take down the worldwide empire
To which you and I are gonna set fire
Maybe finally they’ll understand
When you and I are hand in hand
Taking down the worldwide empire
Darkness Inside
Stuck in a state of mental darkness
A state I thought I was farthest
Away from to guard what’s inside
My heart calls for the light
It struggles to survive
The fight to heal won’t be a short one
It feels like the light will never come
I ache I long to see the sun
Burn away the last of the darkness that enshrouds my heart and soul
Until then the world will remain cold
Barely holding on
I can’t keep pretending that I’m strong
I don’t want to keep hiding the pain buried deep inside
Doing anything and everything to hold on and survive
There’s a time when the world slows down
Every little thing is dragged out
It feels like an eternity unsafe and sound
I can never get the words to come out
Silence comes when I scream and shout
Patience running thin I can’t keep doing this now
Watching my soul melt into the ground
My body cries out in pain
Blood runs through the scars from bleeding veins
Slowly wrapping myself delicately in cellophane
Everything I do somehow always my fault
Breaking me down with no mercy at all
You smile at me as I stumble and fall
Trapped in the prison of my own mind
In a world where I’ve fallen behind
Blank stares leaving me cold tonight
Barely holding on
I can’t keep pretending that I’m strong
I don’t want to keep hiding the pain buried deep inside
Doing anything and everything to hold on and survive
There’s a time when the world slows down
Every little thing is dragged out
It feels like an eternity unsafe and sound
I can never get the words to come out
Silence comes when I scream and shout
Patience
