She travelled the world, working as she went – and this was before email, Skype and Wi-Fi. Instead she depended upon dial up internet and her websites to produce work. During her consultancy she has worked with new entrepreneurs, discussed strategies with directors of banks and written speeches and provided consultations for presidents and vice presidents of several foreign countries. She has been published in several British industry magazines and was recognized by an invitation to be key-note speaker at the International Business Development Conference in Washington, DC in 1997. She is highly skilled in lectures and corporate presentations on project management, bid management and business issues. She is a prolific published writer of books, ebooks, training courses and articles.

What Does It Mean To Pitch?
Not the bowling of course – in business to pitch means a formal request for funding for a new or expanding business. Whereas you may only be asked for a business plan from a bank, a potential investor will usually ask for a pitch deck and a business plan. The pitch meeting is generally a formal meeting where the pitch deck is presented and the executive summary of your business plan is reviewed. The book Pocket Answers Business Planning has lots of answers about business planning, including what goes into one.
There is another type of pitching that is related and that is when a business pitches their products and services to a potential client. The business plan is not required but a sales based pitch deck is usually presented backed by sales or marketing material. We will talk about this type of sales based pitching later on
