Songs of a High School Poet, Volume II - Tracilyn George
I’M CANADIAN
He strides along
The cobblestone streets,
His turned up nose
Pointed proudly in the air.
When he smiles
A glow of self-worth
Overcomes his body
So much so
That those around him
Truly believe that he’s a Yankee.
I’m no bloody Yank!
He cries.
"Don’t insult me
You bloke.
I’m Canadian
God damn it!"
He’s hyped
Angry and offended
Ready to take the buddy on.
So eager
Like a beaver.
No one calls him a Yankee
And bloody gets away with it.
He’s Canadian
He’s smarter
Funnier
And a hell of a guy.
Please
Don’t insult him.
He’s Canadian
God damn it.
WHENEVER YOU MOVE
My heart breaks
Whenever you move.
I need you here
To relieve my mind
For another love
Like you
I would never find.
In your arms
I need to be
For with you
You’re all I need.
You know
My breaks
Whenever you move
So please don’t move.
Stay with me
Until the night is through
And I’ll show you
What my love can do.
Please.
Please.
Please.
Don’t leave me now.
A love like yours
Is rarely found.
You know my heart breaks
Whenever you move.
Please stay
Right where you are.
Let me be with you.
Let me show you
What I can do.
Let me show you
How it is
To truly love someone.
Give it up to me
And I’ll relieve
Your mind.
Sit down
Relax
Let me caress you
And massage your
Aching back.
My heart belongs
To you
Unconditionally.
From you
I will not stray.
Next to you
Is where I’m
Going to stay.
I’ll be
