Chapter one.

Finally she delivered her baby which gave her quite a struggle to bear.The whilsting crying sound was just like sweet music into her ears and soul.Doctor Chimedza walked towards her and handled her a newly born baby girl.

You have made it Grace,you can get hold of your daughter ,he smiled and then he walked away.My beautiful daughter ,I welcome you into this world.I thank the almighty for looking over us all the time .I will remain faithful in your mighty name of Jesus ,ooh my God.

Suddenly she remembered that she had a partner, Tashinga.She wanted to spat out saliva to the disgusting name of her husband which carried evil deads but she minded her baby.

Where are you Tashinga my husband?You must be right here with me and your daughter smiling together.What have changed so much that you don't even have shame to such deeds.

Makanaka enters the maternity ward holding a plastic bag which had food inside."Good morning mother?.

Good morning Makanaka ,she said whilst giving her the baby.Makanaka smiles at the baby with a innocent smile that blossomed a giggle from the baby.

Please mom don't think too much,the storm will pass.Just endure this moment and leave everything to God for he have a way forward,she said.

Grace nodded to the heart warming words from her daughter and she ate her food whilst talking to Makanaka.

It was such a sad moment for Grace to notice another woman delivering her baby alone as the doctors were on strike.Her heart felt like been pierced by thorns as she witness such an incident.In the afternoon she was dismissed as she and her baby had been in a good condition.Doctor Chimedza was such a darling helper to Grace and other woman as he never went on a strike saying,It's not all about the money but the great work and help you sacrificing to give to the people.That is life ,everything else will come after that.

Grace called Tashinga and she noticed that his number was unavailable and she eventually texted him,Where are you Tashinga.I have been waiting for you and I delivered our baby safely.You must support me fairly, I hope to see you soon.A tear escaped her troubled eyes and Makanaka wiped it gently, please don't think too much mom.Otherwise your blood pressure will shoot up.

That blissful afternoon Grace was discharged from the hospital.She could not afford to get lift to her household as fuel prices were rising each and every day.Instead they walked slowly to their homestead.On her way home many people were congratulating her on delivering her baby safely and that made her feel better apart from the dirty behavior of Tashinga.

Tariro mother is here!Come out,Rumbidzai shouted out due to the joy she hold upon seeing her mother.She ran energetically behind Peter who was putting his eyes on the snacks which were in Makanaka's hands.

This was a great moment for whole family to welcome another family member into the family.The twins were looking clean and fresh as they had taken a bath saying, mom is coming back with a baby so we must be clean.And Tariro had dusted and cleaned the whole house just to welcome the baby.Farai had bought a broiler chicken to appreciate his mother for standing firm and strong for her family.

Makanaka answered ,Don't you know that public transport is very expensive these days.You pretend like you know things like these,she said sarcastically.

They all got in the house and Grace went straight to her bedroom to rest.Tariro and Farai could not tell their mother that the Mrs Sando came earlier to request her rent money of the previous months.They rented a full three roomed small house and now they could not be able to meet the expenses.
