      I have two trellises in my backyard. The one attached to the back wall of the garage is a fine piece of latticework. It lacks only one thing: a vine. I imagine there once was a vine, but the construction of the trellis was done by a handyman who did not plant anything to grow on it.

      The basic work of any Christian ministry is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ in the power of God’s Spirit, and to see people converted, changed, and grow to maturity in that gospel. However, as the ministry grows, trellis work tends to take over from vine work.
