Twins' Enchanted Adventures - Aanya SN

    Chapter 1

    It’s the Beach!

La la la! sang the little girl with long straight strawberry-blonde hair, peach skin, and bubblegum-pink lips. Her aqua eyes twinkled in the light. She was sitting on a chair in the kitchen. Her name was Olivia Jones, and she lived in Miami with her mom, her sister, her dad, and her grandma.

Her mom, Sonia, was an artist. She created watercolor paintings and sold them in the most popular shop of all time, Splashing Watercolors.

Her dad, Bien, was fascinated by marine animals. Thus, he pursued his career as a marine biologist. His typical day included diving in beautiful reefs, collecting samples from the ocean, working up samples in the laboratory, and studying them.

Her grandma, Nerissa, was a website developer. Her grandmother had been working with computers for thirty-five years, and she was a talented coder and website builder who created sites for marine scientists. She also helped Olivia’s dad. She continued her work even now, as she was so passionate about it.

Finally, her sister, Lucy, loved to dance, especially Bollywood dance. She was also the star student in her dance academy, and she won many awards.

One fine Saturday, Olivia and Lucy excitedly asked their parents, What are we doing today?

Her mom suggested, Let’s go to the beach!

Olivia and Lucy jumped up and down with excitement. The girls ran into their room and got their favorite panda swimming suits, two light-pink pool noodles, two pairs of flippers and flip-flops, swimming caps, and goggles. Their mom and grandma packed food and drinks like chips, pizza, sandwiches, water, and lemonade for everyone. Their dad got into his shorts and started the car. After closing the door, the family sat in the car with excitement.

While sitting in the car next to her grandma, Olivia asked, What will I see on the beach?

There will be seashells, seaweed, dead coral, seagulls, sea stars, and much more. If you are lucky, then you can also see dolphins, crabs, whales, and fish from the beach. Also, I don’t know if you’ll believe this or not, but there is a myth of a pink dolphin that grants wishes to people who love the sea, Grandma replied.

Ooh! A pink dolphin! Lucy overheard.

Hope I am lucky enough to spot a pink dolphin so I can make a wish! Olivia replied excitedly.

After thirty minutes of driving, the girls ran out of the car, screaming in delight.

I’m happy to finally be free! Olivia shouted as she ran onto the beach.

    It’s scorching! Lucy said.

How about you both jump in the water? their mom asked.

    We’d love to!

The girls hopped through the hot grainy sand till they reached the cold blue water. They jumped into the water and relaxed. It was refreshing, beautiful, and humbling. While they were enjoying the water, they spotted seaweed and seabirds, and they were super excited when they saw porpoises and seals.

Once they had fun playing in the water, they decided to make their own unique castle out of sand. It turned out pretty good, and they took a picture of it before they jumped on it and smashed it. Olivia heard the echo of her sister’s laughter, both of them enjoying the day to the fullest. After hours of playing, they were both famished and parched. They started to eat the delicious food that their mom and grandma packed.

After lunch, they wanted to do something more adventurous. They saw water sports activities on the beach, and they both ran toward their parents to seek permission to do the water sports. After convincing Mom and Dad, they both agreed to let the girls participate. However, Dad allowed the fun and adventure only if he joined them while Mom relaxed on the beach.

All three went parasailing first. It was an amazing experience to parasail with their dad as he made them as comfortable as possible, and both the girls were unafraid, enjoying the relaxing and peaceful experience. When they reached the destination height above the water, they spotted various sea creatures like sharks, dolphins, and schools of fish. When they were up in the air, they could not describe the feeling of watching the breathtaking view down below.

Later, their dad asked them if they want to try snorkeling. The girls were nervous and thought it would be very hard as it was their first time. The girls were skeptical and agitated, but their dad convinced them both that he would be there, and it is an easy sport to try. They could even wear snorkel vests and swimming buoys for their safety. That way, if they got tired, then the boats passing by would spot them easily. They could also rest on the flotation buoys if they were feeling tired.

He also elaborated on snorkeling safety rules and added that they both must respect the underwater world! They should not touch any marine plants and animals or chase sea creatures. Not only was it not nice to touch any sea creatures, but some species were toxic, could sting, or they could cause severe allergic reactions, so the girls needed to maintain a safe distance from marine life, stay safe, and follow the ground rules.

He added that this was a benefit of being a marine biologist; he knew a lot about other things related to the ocean. After hearing this, the girls were comfortable. They agreed to follow the rules, and they happily went snorkeling.

Their dad was beside them the entire time they were below the waterline. They were all amazed to see colorful schools of fish, stingless jellyfish, shipwrecks, and other various sea creatures and marine life. After they were done snorkeling, all three shared their amazing experience with Mom, who was busy painting the beach view. She flashed a beaming smile after hearing all about the amazing experience the girls had with their dad.

The bright orange sun was about to hit the water on the horizon, and the sky was turning a spectacular red and orange. Olivia was exhausted, and she sat on a big rock to enjoy the mesmerizing view as the first few stars of the night started to appear. There was nothing like a beautiful sunset to end a great day.

Her grandma joined her on the rock. While they watched the sunset over the sea, her grandma started telling her a story about the island hidden on the horizon where a wicked alicorn named Solitary lived. Olivia loved the story of the hidden island. However, she was distraught. She had not seen any pink dolphins, and she started to eagerly look for them. Her grandma consoled her, saying that not everyone gets to see these magical creatures, so she should not be disheartened. Despite this, she still helped Olivia in her quest to search for the pink dolphin.

Suddenly, in the corner of Olivia’s eye, she saw a beautiful pink dolphin jump out of the water from
