Prediction of a Famine for the WORD of God and TRUTH- in the Last Days - Robert L. Shepherd Jr.

    INTRODUCTION

Our Endtime world has rejected God and Gone WOKE

In the Twentieth Century, more than 75% of our population in America believed in God and the Holy Bible and referred to themselves, as Christians…

    But no longer!!!

If polled today in the 21st Century, more than 3/4 of the American population would refer to themselves as Non-Christian or Unbelievers.

In this book, I will convey to my Readers, that in the decade of the 2020’s, there’s a famine in our World for the Word of God—just as the Prophet Amos, in Chapter 8 of his book predicted

Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is coming back soon for His Church and Bride!!!

Will there be faith upon the Earth???

… "So, then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God." (Romans 10:17)

    God’s Word will never fail…

    Chapter One

The famine of God’s Word as predicted by the Prophet Amos

The book of Amos, Chapter 8, begins with God showing the prophet Amos, a basket of Summer Fruit, before asking the prophet: "What do you see?" and going on to describe to Amos that because of Israel’s corruption and sin, famine would take place in the Land… And the basket of fruit would one day be devoured by the Devourer…

The evils committed by Employers defrauding Laborers—and by robberies and thefts in Israel, would bring God’s judgement of famine and starvation upon the Land…

And as the years would creep into the future, there would be another type of famine in Israel… It would not be a famine for food or for bread and water …

But this coming famine would be "A famine for the Word of God!!!"

And this famine did come to God’s people…

From the time of the last book of the Old Testament until the coming of the Promised Messiah in the New Testament, there would be such a famine…

Starting after the book of Malachi, for over 400 years, there was no prophetic Voice in Israel…

But suddenly, in the gospel of Matthew, the WORD entered the earth, through the loins of a teenage Jewish virgin, named Mary… Just like God prophesied in Genesis 3:15.

God shows the Prophet a basket of fruit which represents prosperity in the Land of Promise before prophesying a famine which would soon occur in Israel because of sin

    Amos Chapter 8 (KJV)

    1. Thus hath the Lord GOD shewed unto me: and behold a basket of summer fruit.

²a. And he said, Amos, what seest thou? And I said, A basket of summer fruit.

Because of HIS people’s blatant sin, Jehovah God rescinds His blessings and pronounces a famine; and deaths by starvation

2b. Then said the LORD unto me, The end is come upon my people of Israel; I will not again pass by them any more.

³ And the songs of the temple shall be howlings in that day, saith the Lord GOD: there shall be many dead bodies in every place; they shall cast them forth with silence.

God’s warning to the rich in Israel, who were abusing the poor

⁴ Hear this, O ye that swallow up the needy, even to make the poor of the land to fail,

⁵ Saying, When will the new moon be gone, that we may sell corn? and the sabbath, that we may set forth wheat, making the ephah small, and the shekel great, and falsifying the balances by deceit?

That we may buy the poor for silver, and the needy for a pair of shoes; yea, and sell the refuse of the wheat?

God’s Promise to judge sin in Israel

⁷ The LORD hath sworn by the excellency of Jacob, Surely I will never forget any of their works.

Shall not the land tremble for this, and every one mourn that dwelleth therein? and it shall rise up wholly as a flood; and it shall be cast out and drowned, as by the flood of Egypt.

God’s judgement of weather change and famine

⁹ And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the Lord GOD, that I will cause the sun to go down at noon, and I will darken the earth in the clear day:

¹⁰ And I will turn your feasts into mourning, and all your songs into lamentation; and I will bring up sackcloth upon all loins, and baldness upon every head; and I will make it as the mourning of an only son, and the end thereof as a bitter day.

God’s future prediction for a famine (not for bread and water) but a famine for HIS WORD and HIS TRUTH in the Land

¹¹ Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the

    LORD:

Israel will one day be spiritually blind and in desperate search for the Word of Truth

¹² And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and for to seek the word of the LORD, and shall not find it.

Prophecy of Israel’s temporary rejection of the Messiah

¹³ In that day shall the fair virgins and young men faint for thirst.

¹⁴ They that swear by the sin of Samaria, and say, Thy god, O Dan, liveth; and, The manner of Beersheba liveth; even they shall fall, and never rise up again.

    Chapter Two

Israel’s temporary rejection of JESUS (the Word
