Francesca Hepton
Francesca Hepton was born on the tropical island of Hawaii in 1973 and has traveled the world. She has an MA in Modern Literature from the University of St Andrews and runs her own publishing business. In her spare time she has created the world of Kiki the Kung Fu Kitten for both younger and older children. The series includes 4 other titles for 7 to 11-year-olds. She took up the study of Martial Arts late in life. She has found that learning techniques such as Wing Chun in fact takes away the desire for any violence and brings self-confidence and balance. These are wonderful qualities to share with our younger generation. Each story in the Kiki series has a moral message about self-belief, courage, determination, loyalty, truthfulness, anti-bullying, how being small or different doesn't matter. If you believe you can achieve, you achieve.

At the Manor House
image-placeholderIT WAS A GLORIOUSLY SUNNY DAY, so Banjo and Kiki decided to call in at Lord Byron’s massive manor house.
I can't believe that we used to think this place was spooky,
Banjo said lifting up the human shaped door knocker on the large oak door.
He knocked really loudly because he loved hearing the door knocker: Here we go again thought Kiki.
Ow, ow, ow, ow!
He kept knocking it. Ow, ow, ow, ow!
Because Edgar, Allan and Poe’s dad was so rich, they had loads of toys like a mini sports table, a pool table, a crazy golf course, swimming pool with diving boards and slides, tennis courts and even their own enormous fort. Today though they were on the trampoline.
Lord Byron was working in his study as usual when Kiki and Banjo came to call. He watched them playing in the garden with his sons on the trampoline he had bought years ago as their Christmas present.
He saw that Banjo and Poe (his small and rather round son) were having their turn flying high into the sky. He smiled. It looked like they were having fun going up and down and up and down. They were being deafeningly noisy.
BOING, YIPPEE!
BOING, YIPPEE!
image-placeholderFinally, it is getting some use, he thought to himself. Too many summers had gone by with his sons in front of the television screen and the trampoline going mouldy in the garden.
Now, just two weeks after their first adventure with Kiki and Banjo they were true outdoor cats, happier and livelier than ever.
I must do something to thank Kiki and Banjo, he thought. After finishing the assignment, he was working on, an idea came to him he knew they would all enjoy.
When he went outside in the garden, he saw that Banjo and Poe were still on the trampoline.
BOING, ARGHH!
