ECON 101 Notes + Study Guide - Standard - Gilded Bear Guides

    Preface

    WHO AM I?

I am a second-year Political Science major/Economics minor at the University of Alberta. Since Junior High, I have been committed to finding the most effective and efficient ways to study, learn, note-take, and ultimately succeed. My years of trial and error have brought me to this point where I am ready to provide a guide to help direct others to achieve the same success. I hope to release more guides soon. I’ve compiled studying tips and techniques from my High School and University experience, combined with the core material of the course in the most effective note-taking method to help you succeed.

    About the Guide

All lecture notes are in the Cornell Method. The Cornell Method is a popular and effective note-taking method consisting of three parts: short notes in point form organized into sections and subsections, study cues for active recall (discussed more in study tips), and chapter summaries. Usage of the Cornell method ensures the notes are of the highest quality possible. The guide also includes tips and help with course components like Kritik, in addition to providing study tips for the notes provided to prepare for the midterm and final examinations.

    Disclaimer

The content covered in introductory microeconomics is widely the same across Canada and the United States. As a result, this guide is compatible with most College and AP curriculums. It is also important to note that the notes section is intended to act as a guide to Cornell notetaking in addition to being a baseline of all the course material. I still highly recommend writing your own notes as this is when most of the learning happens. Writing easier and quicker to refer to notes in class and referring to this guide when studying is my recommended approach.
