      And He Did

      This is the myth of a

      Rotten heart

      Pressed against a bony chest

      And stamped onto paper.

      Strands of summer sun embalm my wilting body:

      A silky cocoon of bliss.

      Some careless ecstasy.

      The dainty leaves giggle, flickering delicately

      Against the steamy breeze.

      Some days are perfect days.

      The horizon blushes a virgin pink,

      The world slides down my nose.

      Gold threads of searching light are

      Broken by some
