This book is cutting edge in how your genetics play a role in your health, especially targeting weight gain. Most people have bad genes. Genes that negatively influence their health, which more often than not, get undiagnosed by mainstream medical science. How well your bad genes function and or express themselves, can mean the difference between having a healthy life or suffering from most of the common diseases people experience today, including weight gain and obesity.

When you have a genetic mutation or bad gene/s, you may have a reduced ability to produce the right balance of biochemistry that is essential to good health including being your ideal weight and maintaining that weight easily.

Understanding your weight loss genes, how they work and how they can affect your health, is now more vital than ever, as we see a large percentage of the population now suffering from mutations in these genes. This has resulted in literally millions of health problems associated with overweight populations, largely overlooked by medical professionals.

Today more than ever, it is extremely important to look deeper into these genes for yourself and understand just how deeply they may be affecting your health and wellbeing. Plus how you can take actions that most health professionals, don't even know are possible, to restore your health at a genetic level and get that weight off.

In this book, we will explore the most common genes that are leading to some of the worst health problems people are having today, in the struggle many people have to lose weight including people of all sexes and ages.

Weight Loss Genes - the Genetic Advantage - Russel Browne

    Chapter 1 – Why Me?

One of the more common questions one asks oneself when they are overweight and have attempted to lose weight with little success is why me?

Why is it harder for me to lose weight?

Why does diet not work so well?

Why does exercise not work so well?

Why can’t I maintain my weight and, in many cases, why does nothing work?

I’ve tried everything and even just not eating doesn’t work for me.

Does any of this sound familiar?

It’s almost as if somebody is playing some kind of bad joke on you to see how far you will go to get what you want, right?

For most people, losing weight means diet and exercise as this is what society and authorities tell us that this is what is needed to lose weight and stay healthy.  If this is so true, then why are there so many millions of people who eat well and exercise that do not get these results?

Could it be that there is more to this problem than just diet and exercise?  The answer is an obvious yes, but let’s quickly look at the first two mainstream recommendations for a moment.

Yes, diet is important if you want to lose weight, and eating the right foods, consuming the right amount of food and the right type of foods are all important factors.

Yes, exercise is also important if you want to lose weight, and doing the right type of exercise in the right way is also important.

So why for so many people does this not work so well or require so much attention just to get minor results?

Firstly, in terms of wanting to lose weight, diet assumes a healthy diet, one that provides nutrients that the body can use to increase the metabolism of fats.  The first problem here is that even the healthiest foods have toxins that slow down metabolism.

Second, in terms of wanting to lose weight, exercise assumes that an increase in effort equals an increase in the need to increase metabolism by burning fat, however, this is dependent on having the right healthy nutrients to work, which works against you when your diet is already compromised by a metabolic inhibitor such as toxins.

And lastly, the genetics that controls your metabolism requires the right type of nutrients to make all of the above work properly.  So, when you have genetics that are compromised, you find it harder to lose weight no matter what you do, unless you know how to control your genetics to control your weight, you end up back at zero results, or at the very least it's harder for you to control your
