To My Beloved Parents
This book is dedicated to my loving parents. To my father I wish to say: You were both a father and a dad to your children. Thanks for that – I am proud of you. Your dedication to the concept of service above self and your kindness is the legacy that will guide me, and I promise to perpetuate it. I am proud to be your daughter.
To my Mum: I love you for your giving and forgiving heart. Continue to shine, Letebele.

Publishing a book is not easy, hence no one is smart enough to complete the task alone. It is an involved and intricate project and, as you pursue it, you need the support of people in your inner circle as well as those who have special attributes and skills. It is with this in mind that I acknowledge and record my sincere gratitude to the following:

Foreword
Ignite the Power in You is an amazing masterpiece. It is a brilliant piece of work building on Advocate Mary Bosiu’s previous books: Success Fundamentals Vol. I and Success Fundamentals Vol. II. Taken together, these influential books give you a clear picture of Mary, a humane personality who cares about others the same way she cares about herself. She is a quintessential motivational speaker, an avid reader, a sharp-minded writer, a legal eagle of note, a skilful personal development coach, and an entrepreneur par excellence.
Ignite the Power in You does exactly as the title suggests. When reading this book from start to finish, it awakens the lion or lioness in you. Going through it, I had an emotional feeling that there is some power in me that I had been suppressing either by design or by default. I reckoned I needed to let loose that power and take full charge of my destiny. Mary tells us not to look too far in understanding our own failures. Most causal factors for our failures in life are within us. The elephant in the room is our own mindsets. We need to fight this enemy within us: the fear of change; the fear of taking risks.
Mary encourages us to undergo a mental reconstruction and a paradigm shift. She does this by reminding us that every human being is born with a God-ordained purpose. We are, therefore, duty-bound to live up to that purpose to the fullest. We come to this world loaded with the seeds of purposeful success. We each have an obligation to water these seeds and nourish them if we are to harvest better lives. A purposeful, purpose-driven and purpose-filled life is the most fulfilling and gratifying life experience. A purposeless life is as frustratingly aimless as a radarless ship wandering in the middle of a turbulent ocean. Mary aptly opines that people who lead a directionless and purposeless life are masters of finger-pointing and blaming. They only stop short of blaming themselves, which, in fact, is where they should start. Therefore, a purpose in life is as good as life itself; the two are flipsides of the same coin.
Unleash the power in you by being the very best in what you do. Discover the best of the best in you. This life lesson comes out vividly in Ignite the Power in You. Focus on the quality of what you do. Do not obsess about money and getting rich quick, as such a focus may taint the purpose. The quality of what you do should be your primary pre-occupation. Money should be a secondary concern. It is the high quality of the work you do that will attract more money and not the other way round. This is why Mary shares with us the fundamental truth that money loves quality. Too much focus on money, money, and more money may derail your real purpose in life. Your better life will end up being a dream deferred.
There is a well-known proverb that says: if you want to go fast, go alone. But if you want to go far, go with others. This proverb confirms what Mary also says about success not being an individual endeavour. On the contrary, success is a collective effort of more than one person. Therefore, inter-personal relationships, networks and partnerships are crucial towards building a purposeful life. To paraphrase Mary, let us be the rays of sunshine in our daily lives. Let us care about our families, friends, communities, etc., the same way we care about ourselves. Mary herself is a walking testimony of this life lesson: caring about others the same way she cares about herself.
Ignite the Power in You is a must-read. Books such as this should form part of recommended reading for the curricula in Business Schools in order
