    A Poet's Journey - Lee Crawley

    For Mum

    Tis Mother’s Day

    And mine is not here

    I miss her forever

    It never goes away

    I pray to the heavens

    We talk everyday

    Some days brings tears

    And I let them flow

    Today I will smile

    In memory of you

As I sit with my own

    Feeling blessed I’m one too

You certainly left a whole Mum

    There is no doubt

    I miss you forever

    It’s my silent shout

    I look to the heaven’s

Feel the sun on my face

Tis the warmth of her love

    The breeze her grace

    Ever so gentle

    Generous and kind

    Happy Mother’s Day Mum

    I’m glad you were mine.

    A Soul’s Cry

    To see your child

    Bound with heavy

    You want to relieve

    To take the levy

    But you can only sit

    Mostly in silence

    A witness to it

    Powerless in control

I hate that you bind her

    Confuse her soul

    She is but brilliant

    Wonderful, with class

    You consume my child

I want to kick your ass

    I take a deep breath

    I hope and I pray

    That this heaviness

    Will be washed away

    We are her family

    In love and support

    Never leaving her

    Despite the distraught

    Her brother, he calms

    His voice is quiet

    She accepts his embrace

    And let’s go the fear

    It is with him

    She shed’s a tear

    He brings her back

    She begins to speak

I hate that you bind her

    Confuse her soul

    You underestimate

    For she is not weak.

    Now

In driving with my boy today

    We had ourselves a chat

    Reflecting on times past

    Good, bad and ugly

    And realising just that

It does not make us who we are

    But
