    ADVENT AND JOY

    - 4 Advent, Isaiah 65:17-25, Canticle 15,

    Thessalonian 5:16-28, John 3:23-30 .

My mother and Mather in law are Joyce. When my mom was asked by the Missionary about the name, she wanted for baptism she said: I am a joyous girl and I would like the name related to joy. And thus, the missioner selected the name Joyce for her and she was happy about it. My father was also known as a preacher who preached with lot joy. Joy is the main them of the advent. When we are waiting for the coming of the Lord in Christ, we are filled with joy. Isaiah is prophesying about Joy:

My Spirit rejoices in God my Savior For behold, I create Jerusalem a rejoicing, and her people a joy Rejoice always John the Baptist exclaimed: Therefore, this joy of mine is now full; He must increase, but I must decrease"¹

Joy is the main thread in today’s lectionary; it is in keeping with the third week of Advent which is symbolized by the third Candle which is known as the Good New Candle. The news about the First coming was good tiding of the great joy. As the Angel proclaimed to the shepherd:

    Be not afraid, for behold,

I bring to you good news

Of a great joy which will come to all the people.

For to you is born this day,

In the city of David, a savior,

    Who is Christ the Lord?²

The first coming and the second coming are tidings of great joy. The coming of Jesus was the matter of great joy to the Baptist.

In the Gospel, John says, Therefore, this joy of mine is now full. He must increase but I must decrease. The context of this statement is the discussion between John’s disciple and a Jew.

They were talking about the ministry of Jesus. The disciple is saying, "he who you introduced is doing exactly what you are doing He is even doing better than you.

Jesus had appeared to John in public according to the fourth Gospel. John introduced him publicly. Saying:

I baptize with water, but among you stands one you do not know, even of whose sandal I am not worthy to untie He is the lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the World! He came after me yet he ranks before me. Yet he was before me. I baptize you with water but he will baptize with fire and spirit."³

Now John’s disciple was wondering, you have introduced someone he is becoming more popular. All are going to him.

Instead of being Jealous and competitive the Baptist was joyful. He refers to Jesus as the bridegroom. The Church is the bride and John is a friend of the bridegroom. And therefore, he rejoices, Therefore, this joy of mine is now full. He must increase, but I must decrease.¹⁷

There is a real joy that flows in our heart. When we say with the Baptist, Christ must increase, but I must decrease.

The more we turn our eyes to Jesus. And look fully in his wonderful face. The more things of this earth grow strangely deem. The more we fellowship with him, the more we rejoice. Paul reminds us to rejoice always. To fuel this joy there are things that we must do:

We must pray constantly and give thanks in all circumstances.

We must not dare to quench the spirit, that is, we have to remain plugged into the spirit. We dare not despise prophesying; instead, we must make it a habit to come to church and listen to the sermon, we need to turn on religious channels in the radio and TV. We need to hold fast to what is good, and abstain from evil.

If we do these things, we fuel the joy of the Lord. With the joy of the Lord, we don’t have to fear the future because, the God of all joy will preserve us. He will sanctify us wholly, and keep our spirits and soul and body sound and blameless at the coming of the Lord. Rejoice in the Lord always and again I say rejoice committed myself to Christ. Then I decided that I will be a street preacher like that boy. One of my converts because a pastor and he has worn eight hundred people to Christ. I have been looking for you for fifteen years. So, we had lovely time and I was encouraged. So, all what you need to do is to be in Christ, the word who promises: I am the vine, you are the branches, if a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruits; apart from me you can do nothing. John 15:5

    TUESDAY

SIGNS OF THE END OF THE AGE

So, when you see standing in the holy place the abominations that courses desolation spoken of through the prophet Daniel- let the reader understand. Mathew 24.15.

What convince me beyond doubt Chris is God is the way he saw what will happen to each one of us in minute detail. He spoke the above words two thousand year ago. Going to ANCCIU website and Doctorjohngithiga.com which has posted the books which we have published, I could not believe what I saw. Visiting the house of bishops, I found one of the bishops’ sites replaced by homosexuals performing their dirt games and the books in our website replace by a hacker with sex material and someone pretending to be Dr John was advertising sex material. I was so hurt and felt great pain for two days. Ironically, I was healed by 6 years old Pastor Denis who appeared in my WhatsApp. Please if you have ST CYPRIAN’S INTERNATIONAL CHURCH card. Don’t visit the website. We are also asking the person who did this abomination to repent, otherwise he is in great danger. The God who is in us is the Lord of Host. I remember having similar experience and I prayed that the person who had done it suffer from urinary problem. Few days later, I met and African who was a professor who was an atheist. He quickly shares his problem with me. I have lost my job; my girlfriend has forsaken me. I am trying to bet and I am not getting anything. Besides, I have urinary problem. I praised the Lord for bring the man to me. If you are one of those who send dirty things to the men of God and in their Facebook, we ask you to repent of your sin otherwise not only you are going to suffer here and now, but finally you will be in hell where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

There is good news for those who are godly and doing what is the right. The word of God puts it this way:

Blessed are they whose ways are blameless’

Who walk according to the way of the Lord.

Blessed are they who keep his statutes

And seek him with all their hearts. Psalm 119:1-2

    CHAPTER 3

    WEDNESDAY

    DESERT LIFE AND ALL NATIONS

Praise the Lord, all your nations, loud him all you people, for his loving kindness to ward us is great and the faithfulness of the Lord endures forever. Halleluiah. Psalm 117

Today we are celebrating the feast of St. Benedict of Nursia Who retrieved in the desert and prepare the rule of life which included, prayer
