In the middle of the California COVID lockdowns Curtis and Deann Lewis’s 5-year-old daughter, Natalie, needed heart surgery. During surgery the doctor punctured her heart and after fifteen minutes of CPR, she was left with a global brain injury from which doctors said she’d never recover. Curtis and Deann ended up spending over 100 days in the hospital with their daughter as she fought for her life. Through that time, members of their church rallied around them began a facebook group called "Pray for Natalie," which had people from all over the world praying for her and their family.
Curtis and Deann Lewis join Yvette Hampton to talk about God’s faithfulness through this tragedy and Deann shares how, with the help of her community, has been able to homeschool through this challenging season.

Curtis and Deann Lewis are members of Faith Community Church, in Palmdale, California, where Curtis serves as the Pastor of Missions and Families. They have been married for eighteen years and have four children: Titus, Natalie, Haven, and Colton.

He comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any kind of affliction, through the comfort we ourselves receive from God. If we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which is experienced in your endurance of the same sufferings that we suffer. And our hope for you is firm, because we know that as you share in the sufferings, so you will share in the comfort.”
