This is for You, O Lord, King of my life. This is a part of the journey You have walked with me here on earth.

This is not all of it; this is just a drop in the ocean. You are such a great Father; You cannot be contained in this small book. Thus, I am sharing just a part of our story with Your beloved.

I give this book back to You, Abba – my Father. Take it to whosoever for whom You desire to encounter this love’s story. May he or she who reads this book encounter Your Glory-Kavod! Thank You, Daddy, for helping me write; my heart will always be indebted to You. I look forward to dancing with You in glory when my journey on earth has ended its course.

What a privilege to discover many hidden treasures in Sharleen Chen’s book!

We all know that YHWH created all that exists by merely speaking words, therefore, I personally know that words are important. Just remember, because GOD said: Let there be light, our universe continues to expand for GOD never stopped His command…

Because we are His children, the crown of His creation, I believe that what we say also carries weight, and, as Sharleen Chen explains during her process of growth and discovery, that our words carry authority.

YHWH expresses different aspects/perspectives of Himself, His attributes and His characteristics to each individual in their personal walk with Him, which in turn brings about many facets of YHWH to the foreground. Therefore, I would compare this phenomenon to the variety of facets on a diamond. Each person reveals something beautiful and personal of our Lord and Saviour which in turn glorifies Him – the same as when a diamond is admired. Some experiences overlap, but the beauty lies in discovering more about our Beloved through the experiences of others – in order to grow and venture further through discovering even more about YHWH and the vast amount of possibilities that open up for each individual’s relationship with our incredible Creator! The most astonishing thing is that He wants and looks forward to this special, individual relationship with each one of us!

And it is the case with this book. It encompasses Sharleen Chen’s perspective of and personal experience with the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit as up to this current point in her life and there will be many more encounters, growth and discoveries to come during the adventures that lie ahead in her life!

SING TO THE LORD!

INTRODUCTION

From the moment I completed school, my life took a different turn, the possibilities I had set for myself became impossibilities, and, had I achieved what I had planned, I probably would have lost my path because of pride and a lack of understanding; but God turned everything around for my good by taking me through a humbling journey so that I may know Him.

Knowing that you are in His will for your life is rather comforting. The journey through the wilderness that could have taken a few days took the children of Israel years, because of disobedience, and I see myself as one of the children of Israel in the wilderness, enduring the journey of my life and learning His ways along the way.

To be honest, my journey in life has not been the easiest. It has been excruciating at some points, but God, in His gentleness, has healed my wounds and the pain. This is why my journey to knowing Him and growing strong in Him is a precious pearl to me. I really do not know if I would be alive to share this story had I not taken this path. So, I bless Him because I am alive today to share and encourage you through my story.

I really procrastinated on writing this book, I guess the time just was not right until that day I met Helen in a fast food outlet and entertained her for my writing journey to begin. There I was, having my chicken, and she drew my attention by laughing at something on her phone. I ended up giggling too. From there, moved to her table to talk with her – amazingly about God! We then exchanged numbers, and she became a mother to me in The Lord. About three days later, we went to another lady’s, apartment (Patricia) for viewing as Helen was moving in with her; and as we walked around in her home, I noticed that Patricia was writing something, so we had a conversation and, ‘o wonder, she was editing her very own Christian novel. In that moment, I knew God directed my path to her through Helen. Patricia, then welcomed me in her home, and I began to write. Yes, these two ladies even provisioned me with tools to kick start my book.

Thank you, Lord, for that anointed and peaceful environment, for the encouragement they both gave me to start writing, and for Patricia’s willingness to help with editing!

‘O how I love You Abba Father!

Months before I started writing, I went to a local bookshop to find myself a journal for writing motivation. I knew Abba really intended that I get one for myself, and when I walked to the journal’s section, of all the journals I saw there, the one with images of feathers was the one that captured my heart, because it was confirming my being under His wings – the very title of my book. 

On my second visit to the same shop, I saw a three-set journal.  On the first set were pictures of feathers, like the journal I had bought the first time, but this one had the inscription ‘Grace’, which is my other name – Chen, and branches resembling olive branches.  The second set had an image of a nest with two eggs in it, feathers, and branches as well as three little birds sitting on a branch. I was awestruck because the egg made me think of myself being under His wing, closely monitored and protected. The inscription on the book was ‘God is our Refuge and Strength’.  The last set had an image of two little birds sitting on a branch and the inscription ‘He will shelter you with His wings’. That for me was divine confirmation to write this book!

Thereafter, I would often come across a feather, be it in my room or somewhere in my surroundings, and I would know that it was a message. I remember how, while I was taking a morning walk with a dear friend a little later after I’d begun writing my book, a feather fell right in front of us, and I was like, A feather! We are under His wings! These divine confirmations and affirmations directly led me to authoring this book.

In some chapters, I mention that I was gifted with a small Bible and a daily devotional book. These two books were gifted to me by two precious friends of mine on the evening of my 25th birthday.  A birthday that was significant to me because I had given it to The Lord in prayer in the days preceding it. Far from me was the thought that Abba would
