    dedication

To God who has blessed me in ways that I cannot even begin to describe and to all struggling saints out there who think that they are not good enough to be called Children of God

    acknowledgments

My sincere thanks go to my father Gabriel Paul Abu who sowed the seeds of the Christian faith in me and showed by example of his life how a Christian life was to be lived. I also thank the wonderful women in my life that have nourished me with love and support, especially my mother Christiana Folarin Abu whose life of loving sacrifice laid the foundation of the man I am today and Elizabeth Bello-Afegbua who has been a pillar of support to my nuclear family. I thank my friends and family the Jane Tinkle Crew for their understanding all through the stages of my development.

And to my life partner, cheerleader, sounding board and loving wife Nefi,to whom I owe a debt of gratitude that is far beyond words, I am eternally grateful for her love and for sharing her life with me and giving me three lovely Children Andromeda, Joseph and Quiron who keep me on my toes and force me to try to become a saint in this world.

    Afterword

    foreword

The request to write this foreword came via a WhatsApp message in the morning of April 16, 2022. It read - Morning Boss. Could you help write foreword for this pamphlet? I responded accepting the assignment. Thank you Wole for the honor.

Wole and I first met in the quest of our search for knowledge about how to understand the purpose of life on earth and how to live our life in fulfilment of God’s purpose. It was a weekly Monday evening Recollections organized by the Opus Dei at the then Lagos Business School (LBS) campus at Victoria Island, Lagos. We became friends and have been in touch ever since.

I have come to realize over time that a lot of people including the very educated and widely travelled ones, remain unfulfilled when it comes to the quest of understanding the essence of life and why we are on earth. It is one knowledge I have been exploring from my early days as a teenager. My late dad read widely on this subject. My interest in such topics have continually grown over the years and I have been seeking more knowledge in that direction. Wole’s book - Reflections, is therefore a very timely, thought-provoking and significant book, especially given the very challenging times we live in now.

Most of the topics he covered in the book are subjects I have read in various motivational books that are between 200—300 page books. But, the beauty about Wole’s book is that it is concise, written in simple and easy to read English. Most people are put off by voluminous books. "Reflections" is different and interestingly contains all that you will find in that big book. What is very interesting about the book is the simple and practical style Wole chose to share his thoughts, which makes it easy for anyone with basic knowledge and desirous of learning to follow.

This is a work of deep-thinking mind – an attribute on display in the title; context; prose; lucidity of style; the breadth and contents; that would ultimately transform the life of anyone that reads and practices what it contains.

This book has twenty concise chapters. The first two chapters – All the things I am grateful for and An attitude of Gratitude, are very sobering and engaging that will make you to keep reading the book. He took time to highlight a number of things which we take for granted but which we ought to be very grateful to God for. The other remaining chapters are
