About this ebook

The employees, Mawz, Tigra, Telem, Puro, Bow, Jol, Lo, Zono, Date Si, Stub bee along with the neighbour Pluto and the celebrity singer Trudo, walk and fall into seemingly hysterical situations, preceded and succeeded by misunderstandings and confusion. This is a short play.

Life of Tofu Dell - Mansi R
1. Anniversary
––––––––
Earth - 24, Tofu Dell, City Kalam
––––––––
Muddle-Pea Nursery celebrating 10 years of opening and success. Owners, managers and coworkers up on the stage for the gratification speech by Muddela. People from several other nurseries and friends are also present to celebrate the anniversary, holding sugar water in hand everyone is waiting for banana pancakes to be served.
––––––––
Muddela - Comrades and comrades, 10 years ago today my dear husband Ampea and I opened this nursery in our backyard and now we are the biggest nursery in City Kalam.
––––––––
Everyone starts clapping along with the employees and catering staff. Ampea leans towards the microphone in front and turns to Muddela before going.
––––––––
Ampea - Mud honey, actually Brona Max is the biggest nursery. Sorry friends, we are all xomans and we can make mistakes. No need to apologise honey. (Middle Aged Ampea resembles the xoman version of Jack from the pack of cards.)
––––––––
Muddela (whispering) - Pea why do you have to spoil everything?
––––––––
Ampea - But I said you don't have to apologise. Please don't make your cat scratch my butt
again.
(Everyone laughs.)
––––––––
Muddela - You're talking in the mic Ampea.
(She slaps her head while Ampea jumps away, embarrassed.).

___
––––––––
(Everyone laughing and chatting in the venue, banana pancakes are finally being served. Stage is empty except Trudo, the celebrity singer and animal rights activist and Tigra, one of the workers of the nursery writing and composing music.)
––––––––
Mawz - What do you think they're doing?
Pluto - Tigra is probably writing how big of a fan he is and Trudo, autographing them. (Both giggles at their own joke. Mawz, a young woman, is one of the workers in Muddle - Pea nursery and Pluto writes for a local magazine and lives closer to the nursery than anyone else. Not to skip the fact that Mawz has had a secret crush on Pluto ever since she joined three years ago but is extremely introverted to ask out.)
––––––––
Mawz - What are you writing about Tigra?
(Tigra looked up from his notepad, peeking through his big circular red framed spectacles.)
––––––––
Tigra - Something of a secret between an idol and his biggest fan, intrusion not allowed. (Mawz and Pluto exchanged amused expressions while Trudo was busy writing all this time.)
––––––––
Pluto - We got you some banana pancakes. Trudo?
––––––––
Tigra - Don't disturb him.
––––––––
Trudo - There are banana pancakes? Why nobody said anything till now, how much can I possibly eat in this remaining time.
––––––––
Mawz - You can take them home Trudo, we'll pack some for you.
––––––––
Trudo - Some? How much is some
for ya lady?
––––––––
Mawz - However much you want. I'm sure we have plenty.
(Trudo jumped up in excitement to this, making the papers on his notepad flying around.)
