Chapter 1: Avalon!!!

WAHOOOOOO!!! Cathleen Sea zipped through the enchanted-looking glass for what felt like the millionth time into the waters of the Realm of the Southern Sea, one of the nine mythical realms of the legendary Camelot. Just a year ago, Cathleen and her two best friends, Ira and Minerva (who Cathleen found out was her cousin), had saved the whole entire realm from an evil wizard named Corvus.

Cathleen had revealed Corvus’s true form by taking off the shadow cloak he had worn for over a decade. Then, Minerva and Ira, with the help of the Wand of the Enchanted Sea, had turned Corvus into a crow, so his dream, gaining the power of flight, would come true. Little did Cathleen know, on that very day was when a new, dangerous adventure had begun.

Ira! Minerva! Cathleen was spat from the other side of the mirror like a bullet from a shotgun into the morning of the Realm of the Southern Sea and swam as fast as she could in her soaking T-shirt to the Seal Lagoon, the place where the friends had agreed to meet last weekend. She felt her heart beating wildly. Her friends had told her that this week they were going to reveal an amazing destination to her.

Hey, Cathy! Minerva patted a place on the sand, and Cathleen sat down. Come see where we decided to go today!

Curious, Cathleen scooted in and looked at a thin leaf Ira was holding. ‘The Isle of Avalon.’ Hmm… Cool! Cathleen commented cordially, paying more attention to the leaf. Ira and Minerva gave Cathleen a look. Cathleen read the leaf again and regained her senses. Wait, we are going to the Isle of Avalon? As in Av-a-lon?

Ira and Minerva both nodded, looking like little kids who had been given a lifetime supply of Skittles. Cathleen pranced around like a leprechaun who had been offered a thousand gold coins plus two rainbows and a pot of shamrocks just for free. She had always wanted to visit the mythical Isle of Avalon. It was a place where everything was always possible.

Come on then! Stop wasting our precious time chatting about it! Ira said excitedly. She ran (or you could say bounced) to the back of the house she and Minerva shared and hauled a smooth wooden canoe from out back. We shall use these to get to the Path of Light.
