About this ebook

Have you taught a class and feared participants would forget everything once they left the room? “Crafts with a Christian Message” teaches five easy crafts that will help participants memorize 1Corinthians 13, share the wordless book with an unbeliever, teach the unity of Romans 12, and provide a basket of scriptural encouragement. Each craft requires only basic skills, and can be made in about an hour.

In addition the author includes inspirational stories of how God gave her these ideas, and how He used these crafts for His glory. Detailed instructions both pictorial and written are provided on how to make each craft and how to teach each craft.

This book is not only meant to give you ideas for enhancing your study group, but it is meant to inspire you to listen to the ideas the Lord is giving you and encourage you to act on them.

Cindy Peatfield

In her twenties Cindy discovered that being a Christian was a lot more than just going to church. It involved having a relationship with God, reading the Word that He gave us, and accepting that Jesus was the only one who could pay the price for her sins. This started a whole new way of life for her. Soon after that she was teaching Sunday School and helping with VBS. Later she became involved with Women’s Ministries. It was during that time she began to provide crafts for Women’s Ministries. Challenged but willing, this opportunity led to lots of fun, great new ideas, and spiritual growth. Later it was suggested, and later still confirmed by the Lord, that she write out instructions for these crafts. Challenged again, but still willing. See what you think.

    Dedication

    This is my standing stone.

And those twelve stones which they had taken from the Jordan, Joshua set up at Gilgal. And he said to the sons of Israel, ‘When your children ask their fathers in time to come, saying, What are these stones? then you shall inform your children, saying, Israel crossed this Jordan on dry ground. For the LORD your God dried up the waters of the Jordan before you until you had crossed, just as the LORD your God had done to the Red Sea, which He dried up before us until we had crossed; that all the peoples of the earth may know that the hand of the LORD is mighty, so that you may fear the LORD your God forever.Joshua 4:20-24 (NASB)

God is still doing mighty things today. These are some of the stones from the river of my life. May these words and these crafts bless you, encourage you and inspire you, both on your own path and in reaching out to others.

    Cindy P.

    Introduction

I have always enjoyed making things especially when it involved working with yarn, fabric and thread. I started knitting when I was six years old, after begging my mother for two years to teach me. My sisters and I made doll clothes and went on to make many of our own clothes. But, my crafting always involved following a pattern, not designing or creating.

One day a woman in our church announced that she was going to have a Moms Cottage, to run parallel to our Vacation Bible School program. A quiet place for Moms to have a VBS of their own suited to their own needs, and get the same gospel
