About this ebook

This book is dedicated to the women of the world. This is how I view life as a WHOLE. My mother told me that “Experience is the BEST teacher.” My grandmother would always say “Mind over matter.” I myself wonder, “Whose honesty really is the BEST policy when life shows ANOTHER SIDE?”

Tonya Drummond

My name is Tonya Drummond. I was raised in Brooklyn, New York, to the late Haygood Reed and Patricia Ann Drummond, whom I love both daily and miss sincerely. To my brothers and sister, Roosevelt, Anthony, Samuel, Dwayne, Corey, and Rita my sister. My husband, Randolph, and Rodney Greene, who helped in our upbringing. As well as my children, Nefertiti, Quamel, Kyleek, and Kyle Anthony. I was inspired to write this book because of my mother, Mrs. Patricia Drummond, who said she would no longer be around for me to cry on her shoulder about medicine being prescribed. But she will be with me in spirit. So, America, I would like to dedicate this book to my mother, Mrs. Patricia Drummond, and my grandmother Fannie Mae Drummond by saying what they taught me, and that is “I refuse to rob Peter to pay Paul because honesty is the best policy.” I'm going to continue to live, for living is my dream.

Looking back at my yesteryears, it seems as if five years ago I was a child. I wanted to grow up to be just like my mother! I remember how I would put on her shoes, her make-up and had spilled her favorite perfume all over the floor.

My mother knew I wanted to be just like her. She surprised me with my first baby doll. I said, I will keep my baby with me every day and treat her like my mother treated me. My mother would say that my doll is exactly like me when I don’t get my way. We will surely see as time goes on she added.

Therefore, I got this book from mommy so I can write down everything in it like a journal. Especially, everything that’s different between my doll and me. I remember asking her would my body change from like my doll’s to be like hers. My mother would giggle because my mom is so tall and beautiful. I, on the other hand, am short and stocky. My mother said "Just remember… to write everything in this book that she declares to be my diary. She said it will be my best kept secret and my closest friend. So, on the first day I took a bath, brush my teeth and comb my hair… I would do the same thing to my doll baby. I put on her little pajamas, and we’d say our prayers. Afterwards, we lay ourselves down to sleep. Every day I did it and wrote it down in my diary.

Then, one day my mom asked, How my baby doing? I responded, She is fine. She wondered why I wasn’t feeding her. I couldn’t say to her that my doll baby had a tummy ache. Truthfully, I told my mother I forgot to feed her. My mother said me, Always feed her because she needs to eat. The doll gets hungry just like you do. So, I began to feed her and to my surprise… she began to wet herself! She is my doll… not only does she eat, but she pees! I was so excited that I had use the bathroom MYSELF! I immediately ran to my room after I went, pulled out my diary and wrote down what my doll did.

Soon months have passed I was given my very first bra, but my doll didn’t get one. My mom said See… now you have something the same just like me! I was so excited! I ran and got my diary and of course, I wrote it down. I then had to tell my doll I’m sorry. Looks like I can’t wear a tee shirt like her anymore.

    Now that
