Ahouse built on a solid foundation alone can withstand for a long time. If the foundation is not strong, it will collapse anytime. In the same way in bhakti or devotion to the Lord, if not backed up with full knowledge, may cause us to stray from the path of Bhakti when the conditions become unfavorable.
While reading the Mahabharata or watching it on television, there are many questions which arise in the young minds of children. Questions like Lord Krishna stole butter. Is stealing right?
Krishna was telling lies to his mother. Is telling lies correct?
These are very important questions, whose answers have to be given precisely so that the young minds are shaped correctly and they move forward in the right direction. This will then become a strong foundation of knowledge which will help them in their bhakti or devotion to the Lord.
Not always do parents have the answers to these. So, where do they fallback on? This book ‘Tell me why Krishna’ is an excellent way for parents to learn and explain to children, our historic epic Mahabharata/Bhagavatam and its lessons in a Q&A format. Elderly kids can read the book themselves and get their questions clarified.
The stories in the book are structured like in an adventure novel. These stories are the real adventures of Lord Krishna taken from Bhagavatham. This again is a novel idea of the author to present the classic stories in a new perspective of thriller and adventure without losing original content. Through this adventurous thread of stories, the author also brings out moral values that need to be incorporated within us. Emphasis has been made on traits like controlling anger, smiling, speaking the truth and above all, being a good human.
Just like Abacus helps with Mental Maths and Science workshops help with applying Science, the lessons from Mahabharata and Bhagavatham will help mould the personality, moral values and behavioral traits of the child. They will become more responsible to their parents and society.

INTRODUCTION
To understand Krishna is a very difficult thing. It is like understanding the sky, measuring the depth of the ocean or analysing the infinite. In the simplest way, to say that it is impossible, would be making sense. Does it mean that we should not try? Definitely no. Man has always been trying to learn the unknown, break open the secrets of nature and grasp the impossible. Though limited, he uses his senses and thinking capacity to the extent possible, to go into the illumination phase of knowing from the darkness phase of the unknown. It is worth recalling here what we have learnt in our school life which is valid even today. That is how the Vedas are, guiding us in every phase of life:

means From darkness, lead me to light
(BrhadaaranyakaUpanisad 1.3.28)
Man with an inquisitive mind has always tried to reach out to new things hitherto left untouched. Lord Krishna says in the Bhagavad Gita that four types of people surrender to Him. One of the four is, ‘jignyashu’, means, the inquisitive.
We can declare ourselves to be in that category, because we want to know. Not from time immemorial, but for the past five thousand two hundred years, since the time Sri Krishna came to the earth, we have been trying to understand Him and the six types of absolute qualities He displayed, viz., Beauty, Fame, Knowledge, Renunciation, Strength and Wealth. He was 100% in each of them.
In our life (again in a restricted way), we have seen each of the above qualities in people, but in an extremely limited way.
