About this ebook

Type-2 Diabetes is a chronic metabolic condition that is the result of the body's inability to properly regulate its use of glucose (sugar) as a means of energy. The glucose that is prevalent in your blood is derived from the foods that you have consumed, acting as a primary energy source that carries you through your day to day life. Insulin, a hormone that is created and output by the pancreas (and the helpful friend of glucose), is responsible for aiding glucose with being absorbed into the cells of the body, and thus, providing you with energy. With Type-2 Diabetes, the pancreas does not produce enough insulin or it does not use insulin effectively enough to regulate blood sugar levels. As a result, insulin, mediated shots, or oral medications may need to be administered in order to properly regulate the body.

The beginning stages of diabetes are accompanied by some unique symptoms, one of them is that you have a peculiar unquenchable thirst. You start to feel your mouth turning dry and sticky, like you are dehydrated and need to drink some water. You drink some water, but within a few minutes the feeling has returned. This cycle repeats, but it does not set off any mental alarm bells in the beginning, especially to the untrained
