Chapter 1
Josh…Josh…Joshua! Get up you gone be late for school now, Dammit!
His mother Melissa yelled busting into his room.
Get…your…Ass…UP! Now I know you hear this damn alarm clock going off! Get the hell up before you miss the damn bus!
She continued pulling the covers from over his head.
Stoppp!
he groaned playing a game of tug-of-war with his mother but losing as usual.
Now frustrated by being awoken from his slumber involuntarily he carried on with his temper tantrum resting going to school.
Boy don’t nobody care about you doing all that you heard what i said! The school year almost over and I’ll be damn if i let you stop now, don’t you want to go to 7th grade?
She questioned with concern.
Not really…
He replied his face filled with worry.
Son…
she walked over to sit next to his side. Still dressed in her black fish net undergarments, dark purple skirt and matching halter-top holding up her perfect breast smelling of vanilla with a hint of cigarette smoke still looking like an ebony supermodel fresh from a photoshoot even after a long night of work she grabbed Joshua, her only son, her pride and joy by his chin and looked him in his eyes like the loving mother that she is and expressed her everlasting love for him. Her skin glowed even in the dark, the golden flakes in the lotion she used wasn’t needed but she used it anyway just to make her beauty that much more unbearable, perfect she was and perfect she’d always be to any and everyone who ever seen her, from her pearly white teeth to her hour shaped figure all the way down to her delicate toes that she always painted blue back up to her plump booty Melissa was undeniable to any man no matter the situation, whatever she desired Men would bend over backwards to give it to her and this situation was no different.
Listen Josh….I need you to finish school, Please….Not Just for me but for yourself…You can be anything you wish to be but you have to follow your dreams not lay up here in this room and wait for them to come true…You want to stay in this room forever? It’s pretty small in here, I’m sure you and that little girlfriend I hear you got gone get too big to stay in here forever!
She continued parenting him so elegantly showing her perfect smile.
Oh, you thought i didn’t know huh? Boy i know EVERYTHING! Don’t you know that?
She said teasing him seeing how embarrassed he was.
Now come on baby get up and get ready i made you some eggs before you go and clean this….Doot! Doot! Doot! Hold the hell up! Who the hell you think you is banging on my door like that!
She yelled walking out of her son’s room swinging her wide hips so hard even he admired the sight of it.
Who is it?
Melissa called out again before looking through the peep hole. Seeing the silver shinning from the Detective’s badge she rolled her eye’s and proceeded to unlock the door and open it.
What is it now Anthony?
she asked with an attitude folding her arms. Melissa…I..I…
He stumbled on his words at the sight of her.
What is it? I gotta cook breakfast for Joshua!
She stated strongly..
Listen….I Just came to see if you were okay alright? There was another body found in the area last night…
He explained.
Yeah..I’m good, great actually…Is that it?
She responded quickly.
You know what…Whatever Melissa, have a nice day.
He said trying not to get disrespectful then walking away.
…You want some eggs?
Melissa’s voice stopped him in his tracks. He tried his best to remove the huge smile on his face before turning around and accept the offer of breakfast with the finest woman on the Southside and he did a fair job until he saw the gin on her face waiting for him to come back her way.
So…I know you know Peaches, well Patricia….
He continued stepping into her apartment.
Damn that’s crazy cause i just seen her a few nights ago…
Melissa responded strutting pass him towards the kitchen.
You did? was she with anyone?
he pressed on with the questions.
Of course she was with somebody…
She answered going into the fridge.
With who?
he asked having a seat at the small dinner table.
Right plan, wrong bitch….I done told you about that shit!
she blurted out grabbing a frying pan pointing it at him.
Calm down, calm, down. I’m just doing my job…
he replied.
Oh really? So this is what you do? Go to women’s houses and eat their food just to ask them questions? This is how you ‘work’ Detective Murray?
She asked
No….I didn’t mean it like that…I, well we, just want to make sure that we stop whoever this sicko is who keeps murdering these women around here…
He responded tripping over his words.
Mmmhmmm…Joshua come get your breakfast baby!
She yelled out ignoring Detective Murray’s statement. A few seconds went by and then Joshua emerged from the back with his backpack over his shoulder.
What’s up Anthony?
He yelled having a seat next to him.
What’s up little man, You see LeBron last night?
Murray asked with a smile.
You know I Did! 38 points 13 Assists and 9 Rebounds!
he replied with enthusiasm.
Yeah that’s probably why your lil black ass didn’t wanna get up, what i done told you about staying up late?
His mother interjected handing both of them a plate of scrambled eggs with cheese.
Ahhh he was just watching the…
Ah, Ah, Ah, would you shut up and let me raise my son please?
she yelled out shutting Murray up.
"You think LeBron stayed up late when he had school in the morning? You think
