Introduction
Hi! I'm Junee Lunee. I know it sounds sort of funky, but it means something great! I'm twelve years old and in seventh grade. Oh! Did I mention that I am afraid of almost everything, but most of all, I am afraid of the jungle?
There are so many creepy crawlies! Yuck!
I live with my brother, Boyson Lunee. I think it sounds funky, but like I said, it means something great! I also live with my cousins, Dexter and Feelix, who I like to call my brothers. They are twins. Their mom and dad died when they were only two, so my mom, Lexi Lunee, took custody of them. My dad, John Lunee, still thinks we should put the two redheaded twins into foster care because they are really rowdy. My friend's name is Luna Fester. She is special to me mostly because she's my friend and, plus, we've been friends since preschool.
I love to read. I sometimes get in trouble at school for reading while Mrs. Brown is talking, though I still tend to do it sometimes. Otherwise, I do pretty well in school. I am excellent at reading. I like math, but it can be challenging sometimes. I think Luna is a nerd, but that's a good thing because she knows everything. And plus, she helps with my homework!
Chapter 1
H ey, Luna! What did you get on your test last week?
I asked as Luna makes her way to my locker.
I got a 100 percent!
she said excitedly. "What did you get, Junee?"
What did I get?
I repeated, nervously. I got a um… I got a 75 percent.
Good job, Junee, that's still good!
she said, trying to cheer me up.
Thanks, I guess.
Yep!
Why are you so hyper? Like all you have been doing is smiling. Did a boy ask you out?
No, you silly. I'm just excited to tell my mom about my score. She said if I did good, she would take me to the mall. Besides, I wouldn't go out with any boy in our grade. They all stink!
My parents are going to kill me when they find out about my grade if Boyson didn't already rat me out.
I'm sure you'll be fine. Let's get going. You don't want to be late to lunch, do you?
Luna said, making her way through the hall.
We met up with Dexter and Feelix at lunch. We took a seat across from them on the messy cafeteria table.
What did you get on your test from last week?
asked Luna with enthusiasm.
I got an 87 percent,
said Dexter, chowing down on his french fries.
I got a 93 percent,
said Feelix, barely even listening, staring dreamily at his crush, Tina Tory. He kept saying she is the best person he has ever met, but he has never even talked to her. Unless you counted the time when she made fun of him for wearing suspenders and socks with sandals. If you ask me, she isn't the best person ever. She is one of the popular ones. She makes fun of people, spreads rumors, and stares at you as
