Shad the Assassin
Edenia Series
By Beth Hoyer 2022
Tom Mindbender Thunder was sitting on the couch groaning softly. Victoria Montreal Thunder his wife was typing a story onto the laptop nearby.
Tom gave up groans of Oh. Oh. Oh.
Tom’s groans were recognized as crying noises by people close to Tom himself.
Victoria said I figured your noises meant you were remembering something bad into your mind from the crying.
Tom rocked his form back and forth which got Victoria firmly said Tom out with the memory than keep it to yourself.
Tom quit his rocking crying noise as ordered by Victoria’s comment which he said I remembered my life as a persona called ‘Shad the Assassin.’
Shad the Assassin?
said Victoria who Tom saw was cocking her head like she was thinking I’m thinking of something.
Tom spoke He’s the reason why the High Council’s original speaker was named Shad that spoke for the group.
Victoria he saw did a head shake of the non human humanoid species dubbed Highlander’s yes gesture by tipping the head sideways.
Victoria said Yes your right. I remembered that from files of the High Council whenever they allow me to read them as their recorder of memories.
The High Council reportedly roped Victoria to serve them as their recorder of memories as payment for loving and accepting their servant Mindbender as hers she didn’t question.
Victoria spoke So out with it that memory of Shad the Assassin you to tell me what you remember.
Tom obeyed to speak the story as recorded by both auditory recorders and Victoria’s typing onto laptop.
Shad the Assassin was in a forest while clad in his familiar denim like material clothes of brown pants and a twin colored tunic top that reached his waist. He was riding a horse a gonoid in High Council’s speak but known as animal in Humans species’ speak.
The horse had sounded a familiar whiny noise Something’s wrong.
Shad was thinking Someone’s laid a trap.
He felt a compulsion to continue riding the horse into a direction despite his resistance I don’t want to go that way.
Horse as manipulated was making him go another direction he snarled thinking What the depths is going on?!
He was riding the horse through a forest land that’s said Lands belonged to King George of Lions’ Bane.
Shad was galloping the horse that halted the run by walking and giving off that familiar noise he recognized Something’s wrong.
Shad the Assassin was according to natives historically said Shad was identified known for his facial appearance having a black mark onto his left cheek. The traditional assassins were known for wearing covering the face or head’s gear.
This is why the trap to capture him was set by servants of the High Council who recognized him from appearance and marking onto his cheek.
Shad felt the horse rear up in terror Whiny!
Shad gripped the reins and with gloved hands forced the gonoid to relax while pulling out a long blade knife like stick metallic weapon from a scabbard off his side than traditionally off the back like assassins do.
The knife was a sword as he looked around with a glare on his face while silently not saying a word he thinking Surrender and show yourself!
Shad forced the horse to continue Giddy up Mabel.
Mabel the horse’s name refused with resistance from the gonoid who refused to budge from moving while giving off Something’s wrong!
noise Whiny!
He got off the horse to find the ground of ivy vines was of stone from the feel of the bare feet he went without shoes as he grabbed the reins with a hand. Shad found himself edging forwards while pulling the horse not resisting as he held the sword with his left hand. He favors his left hand for fighting with swords and weapons the assassins taken advantage of to target his right side. He was walking
