Help Me Tell - Jasmine Rush
THE BALLERINA
It’s the perfect summer day! The sun-kissed trees are lush and green, ready to give shade to those trying to escape the season’s heat. At the same time, the round, thorny bushes show off their bright red berries that seemed to have appeared overnight. Adding to the beauty and wonder of this magnificent scenery is a little bright-eyed, brown girl named Lilly. Like most six-year-old girls in her neighborhood, she spends more time outside than she does inside. She twirls around like a ballerina with her two plats spinning in rhythm with her every move. The front yard is her stage, nature is her backdrop, and the blue shorts and yellow shirt that her mom dressed her in is not just the outfit of the day but the one-of-a-kind, show-stopping, glitter, and sparkle covered dance costume that is the envy of all the other girls.
After a few practice twists & turns, it is time for the Lilly Show
to begin. With her mom and dad looking on, unknowingly serving as her audience, Lilly dances effortlessly across the grass as if the wind has lifted
