About this ebook

This is the third volume in the series of poetry books about love, life, death philosophy, war, betrayal, natural disasters the earth and on a religious theme. I have also touched on the current topic of COVID and the lock-downs

The poems are meant to convey home truths and meant to be enjoyed. They are often very powerful but some are very whimsical too. They are about everyday emotions and human passions.

The poems are also meant to offer comfort because in life we often come across situations in which we need some comfort. A nice poem can easily offer that when there is one around to do so. Every negative situation is a learning curve. It is up to us to take the positives from it.

I hope you enjoy the poems.

    Let’s Celebrate

    Roofy

My Roofy, My Rufus, My Rooftop cat

    You came from nowhere

And forced me to love you

    Because you were only

    A lovely, lonely, little kitten

    Needing much TLC

    I made all accept you

And then we all loved you

    All without exception

    Our Roofy

    Just a little, lost kitten

    Beautiful and oh so perfect!

My Roofy, why did you die so suddenly?

What happened to make you go?

I petted you many times that day

    And you were fine

    So what suddenly happened?

You never strayed out of our yard

Just wanted a lot of loving

Rolled over for some more TLC

    Grabbed my leg without hurting

    Just for fun.

You were just a little kitten

    Beautiful, lovable, fun

    I loved and

    Will always love you

    Till we meet again.

    Did you die for me?

    A life for a life?

If so – I don’t want your sacrifice.

We had so many odd names for you

Hobbaya, Roofy, Rufus, Rooftop cat, Sootface

And you answered to them all – happily

As smart as buttons you always were

    My beautiful, loving Roofy!

    What shall I do now?

We truly live in a horrible world

    Because

    There was no earthly reason

    For you to die

And again I ask - Why?

    You were healthy

    Young, well-fed, much loved

    What happened today?

    To make you go away

    Without giving me an inkling?

    I played with you

    Always a willing partner

    You seemed so fine

    And then –

In the blink of an eye

    YOU WERE GONE

    WHY? WHY? WHY?

    My Rufus, my Roofy

    I love you

    And will never forget you

    Rest in Peace!
