Lyla rushed from the shower to answer her cell phone, lying on the counter. It was Saturday morning and she was expecting a call from Walter. She finished wrapping the bath sheet around her petite body as she answered.
I’d like to speak with Lyla Maas, please,
a soft-spoken female voice said.
Speaking.
Hi, my name is Myrna Thomas. You don’t know me, but we have a mutual friend, Walter Pierce, who I would like to discuss with you. Just so you know, I’m neither a secret wife nor an obsessed lover. However, I have some information that I believe you will find beneficial.
And how is it that you have my name?
Her number would have been easy to obtain if the person knew her name.
